Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Serious Car problem - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I had my car only 6 months. It was a very clean and nice looking vehicle when I purchased it. I havent had any problems with my car until the cruise control malfunction.

  • My family loves it - 2005 Toyota Corolla

It replaced Honda Civic 1999 and in many cases is the opposite of Honda. It has much better power and pickup at low RPM but is less comfortable and loud at high RPM. It has generous backseat but less comfortable driver seat. It is better insulated with no vibrations coming through the engine or the stick. It has higher clearance but is also sensitive to wind bursts. My kids love it and prefer much over Honda. I liked the seat comfort of the Honda and its enthusiastic noise close to the read line comparing to never-very-good driving position in Toyota and a punishing noise at high RPM.

  • Not as good as I expected - 1998 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car two years ago. It caused me a lot of troubles. First the battery became bad, I changed that. The the alternator was broken. The came the brake. It has some problems with starting. I changed the plus wires, it did not help at all. I wish I had never bought this troublesome car.

  • Lexus??? Pleeasseee.... - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

For those of you who thinks this cheap car drives like a Lexus? Ha! Go drive a lexus and then come back and compare, theres no comparison! This car attracks grooves in the road and starts swaying. It has no handling and is way too high off the ground to be stable. I drive a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE now and it has 15 alloy rims, rear spoiler, more torque, fog lights, 7 (SEVEN) speaker sound system (180 watts) w/ subwoofer, cruise control, in dash cd, AND keyless entry w/ panic/pop trunk...all for the price of $14,200!!! (it is also incredibly fuel efficient)

  • Drive up into the mountains - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I am very happy with this car! Fun to drive.Gorgeous interior. Plenty of pep. A fun little commuter car. 26 inch fully assembled mtn bike fits in back. My gas mileage is 30 around town, 37 on hwy. A\C nice and cold. Nice control layout and function. Car is very well sealed from outside air. Moderate road noise, not super quiet (recommend loud stereo). Some Corolla reviews I have read talk about the tires skidding on turns and other nonsense. This car handles beautifully. It is tight and responsive, but its not a dang race car. If you want to play Fast and Furious, buy something else.

  • Love my Corolla!!! - 1998 Toyota Corolla

This is a great car, I only had to replace the starter and battery so far. It always starts right up even on the coldest days of winter! I now need to replace the shocks/struts just from regular wear and tear. Its a nice looking car, but the back seat leg room isnt too good. Overall I am very happy with this car and would recommend it to anybody. It has 160k and still runs like new!

  • Great So Far - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Driving this car is actually a lot more fun than people give it credit for. Yes it is an economy car but it can get up to speed quickly enough to pass other cars. It has a very sporty look (even at the LE grade) and generally doesnt look like every other car on the road. The electronic power steering takes some getting used to but overall I havent had a bad experience with this car. Gets great gas mileage on the highway in my opinion. I drive mostly mixed hwy/city driving and so far the best Ive gotten is 35MPG.

  • Great car so far - 2013 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought the car brand new back in April. So far 8,000 miles and no issues. I am averaging around 30mpg. This is my first Toyota Ive always owned ford focuses, I test drove the 2013 focus and hated the way the transmission felt. I have no problem at all with the 4-spd transmission that the corolla offers and the car has plenty of peep when i need it. I love the electronic steering. I have the premium package so it comes with the 17 inch rims and the sunroof.

  • Excellent in Every Way - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Comfort is first class in this auto. The car is nimble and fun to drive. During a few cold spells last Spring, the heater was warm before I pulled out of my driveway---wonderful. The A/C is cold almost as fast. This is my fourth Toyota, although my last car before this was a Ford SUV, chosen by my husband. I will always purchase a Toyota for its style, safety, and dependability.

  • Great All Around Transportation - 2002 Toyota Corolla
    By -

At 82,000 miles This little car is an around winner. I bought it in 2001 and I have never had any problems with it. I replaced the original cheap Goodyear tires the first month because I got tired of sliding all over the road in the rain. This is without a doubt the most dependable transportation car I have ever owned.
