Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Great Car, ok MPG - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By TamSco - March 30 - 2:00 amI got this car about a month ago, and I love everything else about it, but the gas mileage is not as good as I had expected...Although I do a lot of city driving, I still do highway driving, maybe 1/3 of the time, and the mpg is only about 27-28. 28 is supposed to be the low for city driving...I expected more like 30...Anyway, everything else is perfect!

My lease is ending & I am thankful it is. - 2013 Toyota Corolla
By yoo - March 29 - 4:12 amTo get going on the freeway on-ramp, I literally have to floor it to get my 2013 Corolla LE up to speed of traffic. The shifting of gears jolts my car forward when trying to accelerate and I hate it. If I am going through a yellow light, I am afraid my car wont make it sometimes because of how bad the acceleration is. I also had to get the radio and "sun roof open button" replaced because the white writing was coming off. I only had the car for 1 year when the writing started coming off and they told me not to use hand sanitizer and touch the writing...a bit upsetting. Taking this car on trips is also upsetting because of the space inside. The car is very compact, especially in the front seat (Great trunk space though.) This car is great for a first car, maybe for a new driver, but it was not for me.

Great Commuter Car!! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Land of Enchantment - March 28 - 11:26 pmIve found this to be the perfect car for my needs. Ive got a country commute of 100 miles round trip every day and this car drives great and gets great gas mileage, the best in its class from what Ive read. Ive really enjoyed the stick shift since it makes me feel more part of the road handling process. I can go 65-70 without any out any sence of control problems.

My Third Corolla - I Really Like It - 2013 Toyota Corolla
By bobnc3 - March 28 - 1:05 amTraded my 08 Corolla CE for the 2013 L because of a great deal at my favorite dealer. Only thing I didnt like was the compulsory power windows and locks. Shame the pure base car is no more. Love the Continental OEM tires. First good ones on my 3 Corollas. The Integrity tires on my first two were dumped before 10K for Michelins.

I was surprised! - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By a.s.w. - March 25 - 10:00 amIve always been a chevy person, but my husband suggested the corolla when we had our child, because we both had trucks. I wrinkled my nose at first because I have always had chevy cars but I have to admitt that now that I have the corolla Im very surprised on how much I enjoy it. This car serves my purpose and its roomy even with an infant and all infants require.

Good but not great - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Pat - March 25 - 3:23 amBought new with optional cruise control, side airbags and sunroof. Extra cost somewhat high. Have to hold on tight to steering wheel on windy days. So far dealership has replaced squeaky belt and engine computer chip-after check engine light went on, luckily still under warranty. Paint chips easily.

Daughters first car - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By alshoe - March 24 - 2:00 amJust purchased this car for our daughter used within the last week. It has 57,000 miles. Was looking for a reliable car, good safety rating and easy to drive. The Corolla definately fits this description. It has the 4 spd automatic, power windows and door locks. It has a pretty peppy 4 cylinder engine and expect good fuel economy. Climate controls work well. Should be a good car for our daughter.

Good Point A to Point B commuter - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By E.S. - March 24 - 12:10 amIve had this car for 8 mos and I have a positive overall experience. It has great fuel economy, quiet and comfortable ride, top notch standard safety features i.e. six air bags,ABS,stability control, and TPM. Also so far Ive had no reliability problems. I drive 14 miles to work 1 way and in my opinion this car is a good daily commuter. I have read in this forum many gripes about this cars handling, steering, and its unsporty manners and I totally agree. I drove a Honda Civic and it has better steering and handles better but its not as quiet or as comfortable as the Corolla. The car that has the best balance of comfort and sport is the BMW 3 series for those who have extra 25K to spare.
