Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Petite, yet powerful - 2001 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car (LE) as a commuter car (my other is a 454 crew cab) and the gas savings alone is paying for itself. I commute 150 miles one way to work and this car has never let me down in the 2 years of operation. I plan to utilize it one more year and trade up to a 06 model. The VVT-i gives me back the power to fly over Pacheco Pass (CA) seamlessly. Everything is within reach and ergonomically correct. Since I seldom have passengers the back seat is premium extra storage for me. This is a very reliable car that does what its designed to do for pennies on the dollar.

  • The Good and Bad of the Corolla - 2009 Toyota Corolla

The Good 1: Remote Trunk release 2: Exterior design 3: Night Vision 4: visibility while driving 5: Gas mileage 6: Display of average and instant mpg 7: Steering and turn cycle 8: Parking spaces 9: ABS and 6 Airbags The Bad 1: Clock location and have to cycle through display to get to it. should be on stereo or like in the 2009 Camry LE 2: Smaller console 3: Cloth Material (cheap) 4: The body metal is thin that in cleaning they bent the cover to gas cap 5: Doors feel light and weak 6: The car seems like it would not take a 5mph or less impact to the bumper well. 7: Smaller rear space could not fit my Infant Seat there but could with the 2004 Corolla LE 8: rides stiff

This automobile is undoubtely one of the most satisfying vehicles I have ever owned;--- and I have owned several makes over the past 60 years. I am not easily pleased either.

  • Great car - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is a great car to own and drive. My wife and I drive it to work every day in heavy traffic and the Corolla makes it easy to handle. The gas mileage is incredible, averaged 41 mpg on a trip from DC to Florida and routinely get 33-34 mpg driving in heavy city traffic. It looks great and rides well. Negatives: The seats are well made and high quality however they can be a little uncomfortable after an hour or so Ive found.

  • Corolla is great - 2008 Toyota Corolla

MPG! MPG! MPG! I am commuting 65 miles one way and need my Corolla to rescue me. I have check MPG yesterday and it was 41.6 MPG (gas tank was less than half full), average driving speed was 65-70 MPH and A/C was on most of the time (speed 1 since it was not very hot). The motor is very quiet and road noise level is very low for a car of this size. This car has exceeded all my expectations!

  • As reliable as mom - 1998 Toyota Corolla

This corolla was more loyal than my dog, as sure as death and taxes to start up and run like a top. It never once stranded me. I feel stupid selling it, but its getting embarassing to drive. It drinks a quart of oil every 2 weeks for the last year, but adding it is no big deal.

  • Exceptional Motor Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Terrific for local commutes, quality interior with exception of left coin holder thingy door, not even sure what it is for but I guess coins, it feels like itll break. Interior is nice but if not leather interior, you may want to invest in a seat cover. Fit and finish otherwise is very good, quiet on the road. Toyotas secret may be their management, but also, they follow the KISS rule, Keep It Simple Stupid.

  • CVT performance is disappointing - 2016 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Overall, the 2016 Corolla LE is a reliable, adequately functioning car, ride is comfortable. At low to moderate acceleration, the CVT functions well. At moderate to hard accelleration, the CVT forces you to learn to accelerate from a stop. For your safety, I suggest you not attempt to merge into high speed traffic from a full stop. If you floor it, it will not shift until 5000RPM. It acts like it is hung in its current gear while accelerating slowly. What you learn to do is pre-select your level of desired acceleration, rev the engine the related RPM(2000, 3000, 4000), hold it there while the CVT goes through its shifting. However, at highway speeds (55-75mph), it performs well at maintaining its speed. I contacted the local Toyota service department and they assured me this performance by the CVT is as designed by the Toyota engineers. He said that due to tight manufacturing tolerances there should no fear of thrashing the engine up to redline if it is properly maintained. I have driven personal and rental cars and trucks with 3, 4, or 5 speed automatic transmissions for over 30 years. If you decide to buy a 2016 Toyota Corolla with CVT tranmission, you might want to test its hard acceleration from a dead stop to to see if you are satisfied with its performance.

  • TERRIFIC TOYOTA AND CUTE COROLLA ! - 2016 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I enjoy my 2016 Corolla very much. It is a cute car and Corollas have been around for decades. My first car as a teen was my moms old Corolla so this is sentimental. They keep their value and do well. My dog Spike likes the car, too. I saved money by not getting back up camera and cruise control so that is good. I don’t really need those. The car is great.
