Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Bouncy Bouncy - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By magnolia - May 20 - 5:26 pmOverall, a great car. The ride is bouncy on side streets at slower speeds. Our other car, a Focus, is also small, but has a smoother ride.

Almost Perfect - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Pat Patterson - May 18 - 8:46 pmFollow up review. Traded this car recently, needed a pickup. Probably best car Ive ever owned. Never to the dealer. Only problem was the belt tensioner squeeked after 24k miles. Avg 34 mpg. Needed tires after 24k (the Goodyear Integritys are budget based). Paid $14.5k and got $12k on trade-in (after 2 years and 38k miles). Unbelievable resale value in my opinion. Someones going to get a great used car.

Bland but Grand - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By Ralphist - May 15 - 10:00 amI got this car in June 08 with about 6,000 miles on it. It now has 62,300 and it runs wonderfully. The car always starts right up. I think the idle runs a bit high, but I am told this is normal. As per the manual it should idle at around 750 RPM. Mechanically nothing has needed to be addressed. I have only replaced a front light bulb. I have really scrutinized EVERYTHING with this car. Other than the idling (which turned out to be normal) the other thing I noticed is that the belt sometimes squeaks after start up. This happens during wet weather, particularly during the first start. Thats about all I find as far as the negatives go. This car runs smoothly and is very easy to drive

Peeling Paint - UGH - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By silver09 - May 14 - 9:10 amI bought a 2009 Corolla in January 09 and the paint is peeling (about the size of a half dollar) below door on passenger side. The piece that is peeling is plastic I believe since the color below the peeled spot is black, not metallic.

Its A Toyota! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Richard A. Klein - May 12 - 5:10 amIts a Toyota...of course, its good! I absolutely love my S...traded in a Camry and like the S better. It is easier to get in and out than the Camry. Our local dealership was great also and really worked hard to get me a great deal...along with the extended warranty...and protection package. Since we also have a Highlander, we didnt need a big car....just something to get me back and forth to the office. This car is more than I could have ever imagined for the price.

Cylinder Head Replaced at 13,500, Probable Factory Milling Issue - 2014 Toyota Corolla
By mycylinderhead - May 11 - 6:56 pmBought 2014 LE Eco Plus in September of 2013. At 13,300 miles, Code registered for fuel/air imbalance. Service Bulletin said cylinder head and 4 valves to be replaced under warranty. Major repair for a young car. Very disappointed. Toyota will not at this point extend drive train warranty for free because they have "fixed" it. Other than that, car runs smoothly, nice and heavy for a little car. The gray seat fabric stains very easily, even a wet gym bag or wet work bag if left on the seat too long leave pronounced stain, even with the Stain Guard extra they sell you at time of purchase. This is a hassle, worrying about everything that touches the seats. Average 32MPG.

Great Car - 1997 Toyota Corolla
By Mixie - May 11 - 2:00 amI have never had even one problem with this car. It is the most practical, durable car, and I wish I didnt have to part with it ever. It is the number one worry-free car. As long as its taken care of properly, it will far outlast any other car.

Outstanding value for low cost! - 2016 Toyota Corolla
By Phil Yuengling - May 10 - 6:53 pmThis is my first new car in ten years and compared to what was available in its class back then this car represents an outstanding value for under $20k. All of my Toyotas outlast any other make of car Ive had, which has brought me back to Toyota for the Corolla. My preference leans toward great mileage and a taught suspension and the Corolla Eco does not disappoint. I dont need power since most folks just mosey along in heavy traffic here. What Im particularly impressed with is the tight and predictable handling of this little car. Ive driven a lot of recent model cars, such as the Mazda 3 and 5, Honda Accord, etc and I think the Corolla Eco is the best deal out there. My one complaint is Im a tall guy and the seat travel isnt quite enough for me. Just 1 inch more would be a huge plus for me. But for short trips Im not fussing. This car is a pleasure to own and drive. I keep my cars for 10-15 yrs so Im a very picky buyer.

Most reliable & economical car ever - 1997 Toyota Corolla
By Kieron - May 10 - 12:40 amI bought this car in March 2001 with 60,000 miles on it. I live in Ft. Lauderdale so the ice cold A/C is a boon. I work the summers on Cape Cod so every year this little beauty runs the 1550M distance each way without a problem. The mileage is just approaching 140,000. I replaced the clutch at 100,000 (usually a driver induced problem). I have had one leak in a steering hose and that is it. I replaced the belts as a precaution at 130,000 and replaced the front pads at 135,000, the garage told me the rears didnt need changing yet!!! Loaded down with all my gear for the summer it goes fast enough to put me at risk of big speeding tickets and returns 36+MPG. An absolutely world class car.
