Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I found this car to be easier to get in an out of, roomier, quieter and all around more comfortable than my friends 1998 model. Lots more cubby space too; self maintenance like oil changes and brakes are quick and easy; handling respondes with how the car is being driven, the tighter and faster a turn the tighter the steering becomes; independant 4 wheel suspension makes for a very smooth ride over bumps and poor roads, and doesnt fell like youre driving youre mothers buick; the sporty look comes packed with a powerful sound system, alloy rims (NOT rim covers) and sharp looking black interior.

I bought this Corolla a few weeks before X-mas, replacing a 15 year-old Corolla with 331,000 miles on it. The new Corolla is comfortable and fuel-efficient. I didnt have any problems with the steering, which was mentioned by some critics. A period of significant snow and ice tested the new Corollas handling, and I was satisfied with the results. So far I have gotten 34 mpg in combined city and highway driving.

  • Oh what a feeling! - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I was very surprised at the comfort and quietness at freeway speed, awesome sound from the c/d cassette combo, and plenty of storage from the well designed two seperate storage areas center console. Outstanding rapid cool down from the a/c.

Bought the car used about a month ago with 26k. Nice car. I agree it could use a telescoping steering wheel. Its a bit of a reach if the seat is back. Otherwise, its a fine little car.

  • Nice upgrade from the Echo - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Has a big car feel yet its classified as a compact. Feels solid and has reasonable acceleration. Ours is the CE SE version from Canada. This was an upgrade from our 2004 Echo, which gave us no trouble at all

  • Great Car!!!! - 1998 Toyota Corolla

This car is wonderful, no matter how many times I crashed it, it always ran like it was new. I couldnt ask for a more reliable car.

  • Excellent fuel economy, almost reliable - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Everything runs great after 34000 miles. Smoothest ride in its class (which isnt saying much), although somewhat sluggish in handling and noisy on the highway. Driving position is very awkward if you are tall, although my 52" wife loves it. I wish we had the Japanese model in the US. (It has automatic climate control, vehicle stability and ABS standard, etc) Toyota reliability and quality is somewhat overrated. Mine came with dislodged window rubber from the factory. ECU replaced because engine didnt always start due to known factory defect on early 05 production. However, everything else is in excellent shape after 3 years of use, with no sign of wear.

  • nothing,but a nightmare - 2007 Toyota Corolla

i bought this car in 07. it has been a piece of junk. to begin, the windshield started to leak twice at 5000,and at 10000. then the brake lights went out.fix them at my expense. then it started to make a funny noise at acceleration. took it back. the diagnosis was that thier was a deformed hose leaking from the trans. oh yeah ,and that was at 17000 miles. took it back at 22000 miles because the glove compartment was falling apart. and know at 42000 miles the check engine light came on because the car jerks when acceleration. theirs other miner stuff i didnt mentioned, but these are the main ones. thinking of taking toyota to court,or get my money back.

The Toyota Corolla is the best car Ive owned. It has excellent fuel economy and the vehicle is very reliable. The next vehicle I purchase will be either a Toyota Corolla or a Camry.
