Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • They should not have changed it - 2017 Toyota Corolla
    By -

My family has enjoyed the use of a 1998 Corolla that was purchased new. For the past eighteen years and more than 235,00 miles, problem free driving was ours with only routine scheduled maintenance. Two weeks ago we decided to purchase a new Corolla. We test drove the 2017 Corolla. The lack of comfort and the level of road noise in "that cabin", as compared to what we had become accustomed to in our 1998 model was no small matter. The noise especially, was so annoying that we decided to purchase a Camry after giving one a test drive that very same day. I had learned from the sales manager that a lot of owners of our generation Corolla had decided to upgrade to a new Camry instead of repeating their purchase of a new Corolla after test driving the new Corolla. The manager also mentioned that Toyota made certain design changes between the model years that probably contributed to the issues we had with the new Corolla.

  • GREAT CAR! - 2016 Toyota Corolla

I have the car less than a month. So far, my only complaints are that the storage compartment in the center console is too small, although its deep...and its positioned slightly too far back. Bluetooth works great, but although, i can have incoming text read to me (hands-free), the system does not provide an iption for me to reply via voice activation. I cannot comment in fuel economy yet because I have only driven about 200 miles so far. Started with an almost full tank. I was down to 1/2 tank at 179 miles, so I think its pretty good.

  • Corolla S - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I actually purchased this vehicle when it first went on the market in January of 2002. Since then I use it for every trip I need to make. I is fun to drive. Light, easy to handle and I love the exterior look to it. I am very happy with my Corolla S

  • Bought brand new, no buyers remorse - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Its an absolutely excellent car in its class and deserves at least an 8.5 or higher. Im surprised at how comfortable it is during long trips and the gas mileage is excellent. Third Toyota Ive owned, wouldnt own anything else.

  • Toyota = Reliability - 1998 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ive owned several (4) toyotas now, and this car is by far the best one of the lot. The others were trucks, and performed well for me, but Ive been impressed with the Corolla. I used to do quite a bit of driving (for a long distance relationship) and have put almost 105,000 miles on my car, and its still running every bit as good today as it did when I first purchased it. Ive changed the oil regularly, and with the 6-disc CD changer, 15 inch alloy rims, and automatic tranny, Ive put off plans to purchase a new car in favor of driving this one well into the 175,000 range.

  • Previous 94 Owner - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I love the redisigned style. Compared to my old 94 Corolla, its a really nice change. Im pleased with the comfort and enjoy driving it. For anyone looking to buy, spend the extra money on the loaded S model, its worth every penny and you wont be disapointed. As for the "fuzzies" collecting, keep a lint roller in the glove box. Its nice to have when youre a neat freak! Be carefull of the passenger side airbag. The left upper corner of mine is lifted. I brought it to their attention and theyre going to replace it.

  • 2003 Corolla - Car of the Future!! - 2003 Toyota Corolla

New body type with a bigger, more powerful engine. This car does superb on gas mileage with decent power on a 5 speed manual transmission. Very comfortable inside and quiet, handles well and CD/Stereo is a winner.

  • Ideal City Car - 2001 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I live in NYC, and find this vehicle to be the ideal city car. The combination of excellent reliability, compact-size and great maneuverability make this car a winner. Between the horrible pothole ridden roads, stop and go traffic, excessive idling, and near-constant sudden breaking and my aggressive driving -- this car takes a beating, However, in spite of the abuse, my Corolla starts up every time - and continues to run stronger than ever. I currently have 140k on the car, and even with the abuse it takes from city driving fully expect it to last another 100k. I average about 6k miles driver a year, so I anticipate driving this car for the next 10+ years.

  • EXCELLENT BUY...RELIABLE...GOOD ON GAS - 1996 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This car was considered a "cream puff" when I purchased it. One owner. I got it at 94000 miles and now it has 96000. It is excellent on gas mileage, 30/36. It is in pristine condition and has all the extras, including sunroof, 6 disc CD changer. I paid $5500 for it and was very happy to do so. I have various other larger and new cars but I bought this one to run around town in and to reduce gas prices during these hopefully temporary times.
