This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

  • Really fun car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I bought the XRS 2 1/2 years ago. Its a great, fun car for a real value. I wasnt excited about buying a Corolla until I found out about the XRS - then I had to have it. As soon as I test drove it, within minutes, I knew I had to have this car. Really fun to own and drive.

I love my Corolla! I can only think of two things I would make different. The O/D on/off and the ground effects are a bit cumbersome if you are not used to having them.

I bought the Corrola S this car has exceeded my expectations. Roomy intereior. I love the leather wrapped steering wheel. Very smooth ride and good handling. Id advise anyone to test drive this car. I think Im falling in love with it. If youre buying in the Columbus, GA area check out Jay Toyota. They were very friendly and helpful. I also feel that I got a pretty good deal on the car.

What can I say, WOW! Id been researching this car for about two or three months before I finally purchased one. Took a couple weeks to find the one with the options and color I wanted, but Im glad I found it. Love this car. Fast and fun to drive. Six speed is velvet smooth and the 2zz engine provides seemless, smooth power delivery. Ive driven many cars this size and few come close to the combination of value and performance this car offers.

We first came to Toyota dealers with the Echo in mind. We needed a very reliable car knowing we where going to do enough mileage to run out of warranty within 24 month so coincidently fuel economy was a must. After test driving the Echo we were disappointed at the highway speed stability. So we turned to the base Corolla, Wow! 14 months later and the car has cost only fuel, oil change and tires. The car still drives like new just a few squeak come up once in a while. We are from Quebec so this car as seen + 35C bumper to bumper city traffic to -35C morning cold starting and as perform flawlessly. Design is boring on the inside but ergonomic is a gem on the long run.

  • Great Mileage, Poor comfort - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Bought new for wife. At 5ft 2in tall she loves it! I (at 6ft 2in) found it to be more uncomfortable than my old 1990 Corolla. The steering wheel is too far away and not adjustable. The armrests on the doors are very hard and my left arm goes to sleep when driving even short distances and the seats provide little thigh support for taller people. The serpentine belt squeaks constantly, (tensioner?) The valence panel below the front bumper is very flimsy and easily cracked.. Be careful when loading the trunk. The curved support arms may crush items when the lid is closed.

excellent econobox i drive a lot and you cant beat that mileage. capable handling, small exterior, big interior, huge trunk, good sound system.

  • Not Bad - 2005 Toyota Corolla

my first new car. i think i chose wisely, but after a month of driving the car it seemed a tad tedious. seating could have been lower. the door panels from the inside feel cheap and hollow. so does the dash. the white gauge clusters are also dreadful, and the green lights surrounding the stereo buttons and screen is hideous and make the interior seem old. it does not corner as well as a mazda3(feels flabby), but it gets way better gas milage. the drive is also very bumpy and harsh. you can just feel every little pebble while driving. this car was just not made for L.A.s harsh streets.
