Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I bought this car 3 years ago with 193,000 for 500 dollars. I know crazy. It has never left me walking. I have done minor repairs, new distributor cap and new plugs and wires, new tires and battery. I drive this car 120 miles a day 4 days a week sometimes more. It now has 239,500 miles and I hope it keeps on going. It truly is a gem and I got a steal. It made my 500$ back long ago! I want another one! I drive a 4 door Dodge 3/4 ton diesel so tjis car saves me so much money running back and forth to work! Sometimes Id really Rather be in my Toyota than that Dodge!

Its comfy and has low fuel requirement. Its cheap and yet reliable. Its also beautiful! What is strange though is that it feels like youre driving a bigger car while in it. I dont need more when I go to work or need to go from point A to point B. The 2003 Corolla also has this "solid" feel to it. The dashboard is very well laid out and easy to use! Friends compliment me on how much space and comfort they have while sitting in the rear seats. Great value overall! Great to go to work and great to go golfing on weekends!

This vehicle is providing on average above 37 mpg under normal driving conditions and 39+ on the highway currently. This is without the AC running. Two features I do not like are the lack of being able to manually control the headlights, and the vehicle came standard without intermittent windshield wiper capability. (Hard to believe on the wiper issue.) I also have some very strange noises coming from the left side of the engine compartment area that sounds as if something wants to come apart. So far, they have not been able to be identified. This makes the car feel unsecure at times. Overall though, the car is doing well at the nearly 10,000 mile mark.

This car is a wonderful buy. It is priced great. It gets great gas mileage. I recently go into a serious wreck with it, and the car held up pretty well. The features are excellent.

I bought my corolla, my first car, the last day of May this year. It was in my price range and had all the options that I wanted, with a few that came with the car that werent my choice. (Options: side-airbags, upgraded stereo system, anti-lock brakes, and Im sure other things as well.) The gas mileage is fantastic I get approx. 30-35 mpg and thats with road and highway driving as well as in Philadelphia where it truely is stop and go. Its really peppy and loves to go fast but doesnt have a problem going slow either, the ride is supurbly smooth with a great sound system. A definite first car buy. (2003-Corolla LE Black) GO out and get one today!

  • A "PRETTY GOOD" LITTLE CAR - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I like the comfort for a small car, even in the rear seats. The trunk isvery spacious. Great gas mileage - got 41 on a long trip, get 30 - 33 around town. Handles well, but the ride is a bit harsh. Biggest complaint are dash rattles and "buzzes" on coarse pavement. I also experience intermittent rattles - steering wheel and drivers door, that appear and then disappear - so theyre hard to fix. Im pretty disapointed in this lack of a "solid feel". Otherwise the car is fine. I rented one last week with 12,000 miles on it, it it was solid as a rock. Maybe mine was built on monday or friday.

This is my first Toyota. What can i say it is a great car so far w/ only 7xx mi on it! Love the external red impulse color. I wish it did better on fuel economy though. Only getting 26mpg so far, but should improve the more i drive i HOPE!! Only have driven in city so not sure how the MPG for highway will be yet. I hope it lasts my a long time, bc i plan on owning it a long time! The dash could use some refinement.(kinda plain looking?) seats very comfortable. Traded my so- called Lemon Scion Xa 06 for this. Hopefully this car will be a better one for me! Loving it so far! My first car w/ DRL! Never have to mess w/ the headlight switch unless i want to use the brights. It best LAST!!!

  • Disappointed - 2000 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car new because I have always heard about Toyota dependability. Gas was never 30 mpg as advertised. I have had problems with the oil. Several times, the oil light would not be on but when I checked it or the oil was changed, nothing showed on the stick. I have had the engine checked several times but they did not detect any leak. Finally, someone determined the valve cover gasket was leaking. Now I have had the valve cover gasket changed several times to no avail--I put in oil almost every time I use it. Also inside handles on all 4 doors have broken off. I have owned some pretty old cars, but never had all the door handles break off. I would not buy it again.
