Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

2010 Toyota Corolla - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Texas - January 11 - 11:36 pmTraded with cash for clunkers . Looked at Mazda 3 , Honda Fit, Toyota XB. Came back to the Corolla. Trunk good size for small car. Quieter then cars in its same class. Agree with others about the clock being moved to radio and the left foot rest is poorly placed. Great commuter car and the S model is very sporty .

Economic or not? - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By carlover - January 7 - 2:16 pmI have had this car for about a month now and it has been really good for most of it, except mpg goes down way too much when I use A/C and I use my A/C on low not on max, both for highway and city unfortunately! Without it is just amazingly economical and I love it for a car that size! Much better than previous corollas!

By Jim - January 6 - 8:23 pmWe love this car. I drive it to work 120 miles round trip. We drove the car from MN to Maine last summer. Car has always run great. It is not a sports car, but it is good reliable transportation.

Corolla CE with Enhance Convenience Pkg - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Micheal - January 4 - 9:23 pmI did a lot of research before buying the car. For the limited amount of money I had the Corolla offered the best value. It has a quiet, smooth, pleasant ride; it can corner surprisingly well and fast (for a commuter car), though it is not fun nor exciting. My body is 62" and 180 pounds. I have just so-so leg space with the seat all the way back; fortunately, the steering wheel telescopes and tilts nicely. My left elbow is way past the door elbow rest, so I cant use it; the right elbow rest aligns nicely, but is hard plastic. The seat is uncomfortable - no lumbar support and the seat cushion is too narrow so the side bolster dig into the butt. Excellent fuel economy; good visibility.

Decent car! - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By rahdirsv - January 4 - 9:20 pmBought this car as a used car a month back and it had 45k miles on it; I have already put in 5000 miles on it (mostly highway) and I get an avg of 36 mpg. Got about 40-42 mpg on a recent long trip. No problems to date; engine quite noisy compared to other imported cars I have owned but great pickup and no problems passing/driving etc. I face a similar problem that a couple of other reviewers have written about: I cant get a comfortable steering wheel hold when the leg length (seat position) is adjusted right. And if I get a good steering hold for my arm length, my legs are too close to the pedals. Probably just needs a telescopic steering column.

Excellent redesign makes for a much improved Corolla! - 2014 Toyota Corolla
By kirkuleez - January 4 - 5:44 pmI was looking to trade in my Honda Fit which I loved, for a larger, quieter, smoother riding car for my 65 mile round trip commute to work. Yet I still wanted the efficiency and reliability of the Fit. I cross shopped between the 2013 Civic and the newly designed 2014 Corolla. I initially liked the Civic better, but after driving each car again I realized how good of a job Toyota did. Advantages of the Corolla are: many more premium features for less money, better looking exterior, CVT transmission, nicer interior design with better gauges, automatic climate control, touch screen display screen, much nicer looking wheel choices, unique interior color choices, and a very quiet planted ride.

Rotten Egg Smell Doesnt go away - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Neal Patwari - January 3 - 10:00 amTo the reviewer who said that the rotten egg smell would go away after 5000 miles - no, Im sorry to say, it doesnt. This smell now stinks up my car every single time I drive it, 15000 miles later. Im very disappointed that Toyota continues to deny the problem even though consumers have been complaining for years. Although Im otherwise happy with my vehicle, they might as well sell the car with dead fish in them, as good as it smells.

Reliable Reliable Reliable a little fun - 1998 Toyota Corolla
By RJH - January 3 - 2:00 amThis is the ideal car. A little fun to drive, quiet, comfortable. I upgraded tires which really improves ride and handling. Best value, these things run forever with basic preventative maintenance...

Flintstones vehicle - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By Laura - January 1 - 8:03 amThis bare-bones car runs and runs. Although the styling, road noise, and freeway handling leave a lot to be desired; the fuel economy, peppy street performance, and reliability are excellent.

Corolla vs Civic - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By steph - December 29 - 10:00 amMy sister bought a Civic a month ago and I bought a Corolla a few days ago. If you look at the body of a Corolla vs a Civic, by far, the Corolla is better. It also steers a lot better than the 2003 Civic. Civics are a good, solid car, but to get the "biggest bang for the buck" I would buy a Corolla even though it is 1500 more than a Civic. Great Car!
