Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Loved it - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By loved it - January 24 - 2:43 pmI was in the military and stationed in California. I drove from California to Texas all the time. So put a lot of miles on my car. I also got in a wreck and totaled the car completely a few months after I got it. It was dark outside and I was able to drive the car with it totaled all the way to work which was about 20 miles and to the shop to drop it off which was another 10. IT STILL RAN!!! I never had a problem and loved the gas mileage it got. I went 1200 miles from Cali to Texas and had to fill up 3 times. Thats not bad! I love this car and miss it deeply!!! Only got rid of it cause I had another baby and there was not enough room in the backseat for 2 car seats plus another person.

Cant Complain - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By lfas - January 24 - 1:58 pmThis Corolla was a replacement for 2004 Civic which I felt was underpowered and delicate. Purchased pre owned with 75k three years ago, now have approximately 94k.

Good, Reliabile Car - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By Mike Callaghan - January 22 - 2:00 amI purchased the car from my parents in May of 2002. They offered it to me for a price i could not refuse. The car had 48,000 miles on it and it was a 5 speed. As long as i have owned it I have had to replace absolutly nothing. I realize the car has barely any features. It is also very slow. But it works and I get about 32 miles to the gallon. For a 16 year old it was a great car. It is kind of hard to get in trouble with it. Before the car was given to me my parents replaced the alternator and starter.

Toyota-the way to go but... - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Pink9847 - January 20 - 6:30 amThis is my third toyota. My first was the 2000 echo, my second is the 2001 4Runner and the 2005 is my third. I bought the corolla for its great mileage and ofcourse, you cant go wrong with a toyota! Other not favorite features include no Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, etc displays on your dashboard. The body is very weak. Someone hit my car when parked and the bumper caved in and I lost some plastic piece that goes where a light would be on a normal car. Now theres a bare hole. I love toyota but it could use improving. I think my echo had a better interior - sad.

Good Car, but Needs Minor Improvements - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Brett - January 20 - 2:03 amTraded an 04 Corolla CE for the 09 Corolla LE. Overall, I have been impressed with the performance of the car, fuel economy, and exterior design. Averaging 34.5 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. I have 1800 miles on the car, and the volume knob on the radio stopped working today for some reason. I visited the dealership and they ordered a new radio without hesitating.

Slow acceleration - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By Rick - January 18 - 11:36 pmMy 1994 Corolla is really a 94 Geo Prizm (same as). I have over 220,000 terrific miles. Currently, however, I have experienced slow acceleration under 50 MPH and it hates air conditioning at those speeds. Twice the car has stalled after sitting out over night in heavy rain. A whiff of carb. spray does the trick. I have a very highly skilled Toyota mechanic and he has looked at everything and cannot find anything wrong. The car runs like a demon on the Interstate at 70 MPH and does not use a drop of oil. After sixteen years it still starts without touching the gas pedal. Still a great car but this issue is a major annoyance.

Great on gas mileage - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By rosi104062 - January 13 - 3:10 amWhen I researched this vehicle, I also reviewed the Civic, Fit, and Elantra. I liked the Civic, but its a little out of my price range. The Corolla turned out to be an excellent overall vehicle for the price. It seems to be a quiet car. The exterior design is nice. I was almost afraid to get this since I saw a lot of complaints about the ECS, but I dont notice anything bad about this. The leg room is as expected, and seems fine.

Much better than 2004 - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By igmatas - January 12 - 10:00 amI drove several 2004 Corollas earlier this year - was not impressed. The 2005 made up for the weaknesses. Its as if Toyota read my mind.
