Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Worst $2400 ever spent - 1998 Toyota Corolla
By Jose - March 3 - 4:56 amBought this car from auction. Test drove it on street, engine and trans ran smooth except heard thump and saw steering wheel wiggle, probably just a balled tire. Wrong! Or maybe not? Drove it on the highway next day and car shook violently. I thought it would fall apart. I got 3 different mechanics opinions and still thumping. Did an alignment, replaced 2 tires, replaced all 4 brakes, and replaced transmission for goodness sake! Spent $1072 in less than 3 weeks of buying car! Not to mention turn signal light in dash went out and steering wheel is disintegrating quickly. Paint and or plastic around inner door moldings disentegrating and lock for trunk fell sideways (dont ask!).

Great Small Car - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By mcdawgg - March 1 - 7:03 pmThis is a very nice, reliable, comfortable, and inexpensive car. It is quiet on the highway, and comfortable. Bullet-proof reliability. Cheap to maintain, and great on gas. Many people say the 4 speed automatic is old and outdated, but take another look. Thats right, the Corolla is just about THE most fuel efficient in its class, according to Consumer Reports. So, yes, a 5 speed auto would be bettter, but the 4 speed auto still beats just about all the other cars in this class, and it is very quiet. The engine & transmission are proven - ultra-reliable for an automatic.

Love This Car - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By angie - February 28 - 11:40 pmI love this car! The gas mileage is great, and it has decent power for a compact car. I recently got in an accident with this car and it held up great, no injuries. When we buy another car it will be another Corolla.

Things i dont like about this car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By bradsterL - February 24 - 10:00 amGreat little car but expensvie like $16,500 with tax. Love the grey two tone dash interior. Automatic could be the best ever and engine magic. Toyota suspension plain suck and should be reworked including the TACOMA. Engine light has come on both vehicles could be bad gas. After driving my 85bmw 325 its well not as good as that 80s car lol.

Great car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By george norwood - February 21 - 4:20 pmI traded my 07 S for this one for the new body style and all the airbags and antilock brakes. The car rides and handles great. It is a lot roomier on the inside. Love the blue dots on the seats. Its like a baby Camry.

Boberts Corolla - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Bobert - February 21 - 6:13 amThe Corolla is Toyotas best kept secret - in my opinion it is even better than a Camry - just about the same size with way better gas mileage and about $5K cheaper. The LE model is equipped with all the options needed to be comfortable. The engine and transmission is so smooth. Driving on the interstates you have to be careful because you cant hear the engine and the ride is not compromised at 85 MPH. No scheduled maintenance tuneups until 120K miles due to new technology iradium spark plugs - antifreeze good for 100K. Other people can not believe that my car is a Corolla because it is not a little car - they also love the luxuious Indigo Ink Blue metallic color - used on Avalons.

Best Cost to Fun Car - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Al Williams - February 21 - 2:00 amBefore buying, I drove a 2003 Civic LX. This car was not only faster(not by much) but was quieter and gets better gas mileage. The fit & finish shows the usual Toyota quality & has a suprising ammount of cabin room & rather large trunk. Also, dealers are willing to sell $500 over invoice without any hassle. You cant find that kind of deal with the Civic!!

Good dependable commuter car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By SS - February 19 - 9:33 amHave been reading a lot of posts about how bad the Corolla is. Well, one needs to remember that it is not a Camry. Have always had a camry (v6) and corolla...one for the highways, power and comfort and one for the daily fuel efficient commute. If one keeps the corolla long enough, they WILL realize how cheap the overall maintenance is in the long run. Yes, the quality has dipped some on the interior. Guess to keep the price the same and still have to improve the drive train, toyota had to cut corners, which is sad. My 2000 corolla had better interior than this one.

Moving down or up? - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By ExMR2 - February 17 - 10:46 pmJust totaled a 2001 MR2 Spyder and bought a new 2010 corolla S instead. I have driven normal corolla and wasnt expecting much out of the S model, but I was surprised. It was well rounded and much nicer. It is not by any means fast, but it does way better than you would expect a 132hp sedan to do. Overall the look is great, awesome gas mileage, and an unbelievably good interior for the price I paid (which I got one hell of a deal). If you are looking at one but the name "corolla" scares you off, give it a shot anyway, you might be surprised.
