Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

When I bought this car, I knew it was going to be for utilitarian purposes only, school, work, errands. After all, thats all that this car is good for. After 2.5 years driving it after buying it brand new, I got bored with it and sick of hearing the engine strain to accelerate and pick up reasonable speed. The car drives well, seeps on gas slowly (I could drive 2 weeks without filling up), but it is not a fun car. Very dependable, never had an issue with it after 20,000 and going.

Poshed up version of same old car, except that it breaks now. Engine is potent if you want to push hard but handling is left far behind. Minor build quality flaws. Check Engine light comes on every so often for no apprarent reason.

I really dont know where some of these negative reviews are coming from. I am 60 years old and used to sell Toyotas back in the 1980s, when you where lucky if you could buy one for MSRP. People where getting on lists to wait for one and most where sold by the time they hit the lot. This car is so much better in all aspects than the Toyota Corollas of those days. I love the way it looks and drives, not to mentions the 35 mpg that I averaged on the 1st 3 tanks of gas. I paid right at invoice for the car and got 60 months at 0% financing and because I traded in a 12 yr old Toyota Sienna with 170,000 miles on it, I was given a 2-year free maintenance agreement at no additional cost.

I have had only good experiences with my corolla. All of my friends think it is a nice car. When the choice comes up for who is going to drive, it is me. It is a really spacious car that has a family car feel with a sporty look.

This is my third Corolla. I traded in a 1995 for a 2003. Loved the 2003 S, I only traded it in because the miles were high (I drove a lot back then.) I feel that Toyota really let the interior quality go down hill. There are rattles and shakes in the doors, glove box and sunroof. My gearshift wobbles and the felt lining in the ceiling is coming out... not what I expected. Ill still keep the car until it gives out on me, but Im very disappointed in the interior quality.

This car is great. I bought it used with 75,000 on it and it now has 175,000. The light in the ashtray no longer works... that is it. Had the cap & rotor replaced recently and the mechanic said "your car is like a way back machine. Everything is original!" If it aint broke...

After watching and reading many reviews I purchased a 2016 Corolla LE Plus.Corollas reliability is why.Exterior color is black pearl. Its amazing in the sun seeing all the vivid pearl colors.Toyotas LED projector headlights are the best headlights for visibility at night. The dash controls are well thought out and easy to use(love the back button on the steering wheel).Stereo sounds good and is plenty loud.Car horn sounds like a duck sliding down hill on his butt.Drivers seat is comfortable for the one hour commute to work. You have to adjust the seat and the steering wheel a while to get dialed in,but once you do its all good.Acceleration is adequate, actually peppy when in sport mode.CVT transmission is very smooth and seamless, love it.One professional reviewer said "the car wanders on the highway and the steering wheel needs constant correction" I disagree.I would agree with another reviewer saying the car "floats",which is not a bad thing in the Toyota world. So far I am getting a combined MPG of 38 plus.Happy with the purchase.

  • You simply cant beat the Corolla! - 2006 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla S is a wonderful car! Ive owned it for three months and I have driven it for roughly 6,000 miles. It is, by far, the best built vehicle I have ever owned. Mind you, my wife and I also own a new 06 Acura MDX and were always debating as to who will be driving the Corolla. Yes, the Corolla is that enjoyable! From the minute you enter the car you realize that this is a well engineered automobile made with quality materials. Before purchasing the Corolla, my wife and I also test drove an 06 Honda Civic LX and an 06 Volkswagen Jetta and after much deliberation, we concluded that - for the price - the Corolla was simply unbeatable. I highly recommend this car!

I am so very pleased with this car. This is my third Toyota and the most fun to drive of all. I love the stereo and the deep gray interior. The gas mileage is wonderful. This car has pep. I love to drive in the fast lane. Even though Im a grandma, I feel young and free driving my corolla s.
