This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

  • So far, so good - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car based on its exceptional reliability. Hopefully, it will live up to that reputation over the next several years. The Corolla has an uncomfortable driving position, but handles well. Controls are logically placed and easy to see. Very smooth, shifting transmission.

I have driven a Corolla for over 15 years. My last model was a 2000. The 04 with the new side airbags, larger interier and increased hoursepower not only gives the feeling of safety and comfort, but the belief that I have a quality car that compares very favorably with may of a higher price.

for the money its an over all good value.fun to drive nice to ride in, good looks.and we had it for a month before we totled it on the side.so it took a pretty good hit and really held up well and no one was hurt.

2005 toyota corolla S, bought it for the looks. its the only thing I like about it, otherwise no power, poor handling and economy sounding stereo, even when upgraded. I have had 3 issues within 1 year, not toyota quality...

  • Im pleased with my purchase! - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I bought the car because of the Toyota name and its reputation. I have been pleased with my cars overall performance and comfort. In the past Ive had a couple of Cadillacs but decided to really get my moneys worth out of my car this time.

  • Economical but boring - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I tried to like this car. Its relatively inexpensive, it gets great gas mileage, and Toyotas tend to be super-reliable. Our Corolla is all of that, but its boring to drive, and I just cannot find a comfortable seating position in this car. Ive adjusted everything that can be adjusted and I still get pain in my lower back and upper legs after driving this car for more than 45 minutes. I ended up giving my wife this car, and I started driving our 04 Golf TDI. My wife is happy enough with the car so we still have marital bliss. But, I have to say that I probably will not buy another one like this unless the redesigned models have improved seating.

  • Highly Recommend - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car at the end of August of 2005 and wasnt too sure what the XRS model was. After 4 years of owning it, I think its a pretty good daily driver. Its fun to drive and has enough power to keep up with flow of traffic. The 6 speed manual is what makes it different from the other models and the 2zz-ge motor revs up to 8200 rpm which makes a really fun to drive when the lift kicks in.

  • Decent small car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

We bought this car as a replacement for a gas guzzler. We have yet to hit 33 mpg in town. My daughters 97 Corolla does better. I am 62" and find the front seats uncomfortable and the back seats impossible. I cant find a comfortable position for long drives because the steering wheel does not telescope. The seats do not offer much lower back support. I had a Civic for a month while the Corolla was getting a new front end. The Civic seats were more comfortable and the cloth was better quality. Civic had more pep but was also much noisier. Both cars suffer from not being set up for taller dirvers.

  • Toyota Corolla S 5M - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is a great car for the price. Quality and styling beats out anything in its class including the Honda Civic EX. I purchased this car as a commuter special, for the gas mileage. After 10,000 miles, I am averaging 39 mpg! This is the best car I have ever owned and recommend this car to anyone. The best part is that no one can believe that it is a corolla; Toyota hit the nail on the head with this one.

  • Best Car I have ever owned - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is by far the best care I have ever owned for the price. It is both efficient for my long commute, and fun to drive.
