Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • LOVE my Corolla! - 2016 Toyota Corolla

First of all, for those people complaining about the Corolla not accelerating fast enough...it comes with a handy "sports mode" that will turn off the eco feature (if you have it) and that will allow you to accelerate much faster. This car gets AMAZING gas mileage and is a great car in general. Very fancy for a Corolla and quite a bit larger than they used to make them. The seats are very comfy. Huge trunk. Stylish and sporty on the inside and out. Love the touch screen display. Great speakers too. I really have no complaints. Great buy for the money.

  • Love my Sleek and Sporty Corolla S! - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Being that this is my first car, I dont have much experience on owing other cars, but I can tell you that I truly love this sporty Corolla S! The exterior looks sharp with the alloy wheels, fog lights, spoiler; it completes the package! The black cloth interior with the super bright and sporty gauges are awesome! The black interior is much better then the tan LE cloth. The only thing I dont really like is where the digital clock is located. It really makes you take your eyes off the road. The engine has enough pep to get you moving; not crazy fast nor super slow. I have also been averaging 35mpg! Cant beat that! I would reccomend this vehicle to anyone! A great and reliable Toyota!

  • Not as good as i thought? - 2006 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Had since 06 and been reliable except for the following. Had to have all brakes put on at 65k and Im easy with the brake pedal so not sure why Id need new brakes already but ole well. Horn stopped working after 45k miles. Needing tires now but thats a wear and tear item. They held up quite well knowing I have them still on and the car has 71k on it. Lights keep going out here and there. License plate light and one of the front hi beams keeps going out for some reason. The flashers dont work and havent since 48k miles. Not sure why? The dealer said it a electrical problem and my warranty wouldnt cover it. Other than that no major issues. Engine fine for now. Thank god!

  • Reliable commute car - 1999 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I have put 160K on it,in general its been reliable, no major problems. Its cheap to maintain and will run for long time. I have long commute and like to stay in fast lane all the time, enginee start burning oil when its about 120k, not very bad but the rear is "smoked", its very obvious on a white bumper. Also replaced the front struct at about 130k mile, I took it on to dirt road couple times on camping trips with few hundred pond load. Front hood paint has many large chips due to long hours on the road, steering wheel top portion wore out due to the sweat and sunshine, front windshield replaced due to cracks. Overall I recomand it to commuter who dont push it too hard

Good car overall lacks power when loaded. Perfect commuter car with great gas milleage. Keep it tunned and oil changed and it will stay true to you

  • Great Commuter Car - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Looked at several cars: Civic, Mazda3, Lancer, and Focus. It was a toss up between the Civic and the Corolla. Decided to go with the Corolla because of the newly redesigned look. The Corolla is very comfortable to drive with minimal wind/road noise.

  • Beats Nissan and Honda - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car the same week the 2007 was available. It drives well, better than a Yaris. Its cheaper than a HONDA civic, its cheaper than the ALTIMA. Think about it this way, if you are in the market to buy a car that you need to use for your family and for traveling to work back and forth this thing is AMAZING! acceleration is good, fuel economy is great, if i had to give this car a grade on a scale of 1 - 10, it would be a 9.8 for sure.

  • Decent Car - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Overall it is not a bad car to drive. The transmission is really smooth and the car provides enough power for most drivers in this segment. Steering is electric and feels every bit of it; that is okay for some but not others. This is my first Toyota and I have to say Im left underwhelmed. Its bland which is Toyota, but my car has not been "reliable". The interior dash rattles due to hard plastics it seems, had to take it in for the recall, fix a loose bracket on the muffler, and replace the front struts - all with under 8000KMS on it, and the bumper half came off when it brushed up against a curb. I dont suggest not buying it, but Toyotas quality might be slipping with this one.
