Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Good quality car. - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Jay123 - May 17 - 2:00 amAfter 10 months of driving I have very few complaints and thats a major plus because I am hard to please and very critical of anything I purchase that cost several thousand dollars. I expect perfection and the 2003 Corolla almost delivers.

Best car Ive ever owned - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By AWESOME CAR - May 15 - 2:03 amMy 1999 Corolla just hit 100,000 mles. The only repair I have ever had was a tail light bulb. Clearly, the best car Ive ever owned. I drive it everywhere at almost 40 mpg and never have a doubt that it wont get me back home. Thanks Toyota!!

this car is awesome! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By comedybit - May 13 - 2:56 amIve had this car for a year now, and its been GREAT. It gets great gas mileage on the highway. 38mpg on my last road trip. It feels very sturdy and solid, even at highway speeds (70- 80mph) The car rides smooth, even when im tearing down the highway faster then I should! ;-)

Toyota Quality not what its claimed - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By REsson - May 10 - 12:20 amGot a 2007 Corolla and the paint and bodywork are not good. Poor design of Rear bumper and generally poor quality paint job. Been back to dealer once for paint work and still not good. Otherwise seems to run okay, good MPG but a bit too much engine noise.

Awesome - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By abcde - May 6 - 3:33 pmI bought the car new in 2002 and now have 98,000 miles on it. It required front brake pads due to squealing brakes at 25,000 miles and was done free. Have performed routine maintenance - battery 60,000 miles, tires 60,000 miles, brakes 85,000 miles. After the brakes at 85,000 there was a persistent squeal and the car needed 2 more trips back to the dealer. Was given a free loaner car for the 2 returns and it was handled very professionally. Other than that I routinely get 34-35 mpg with about 65% highway driving. The car is actually fun to drive and I am always the first "out of the blocks". Minimal road noise at cruising speed and very smooth highway manners.

Love / Hate - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By dbackfirst - May 6 - 10:00 amTitle of the review sums it up. Love - - mpg, getting around in the snow, always starts, easy maintenance, air conditioner. Hate - road noise, poor handling, poor brakes, lousy power (even for an econobox). Also Ive had to replace the front wheel bearings twice in under 100K. Toyota dealer the first time.

Excellent Car - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Tylercom87 - May 6 - 10:00 amLove the styling of this car. Brisk acceleration without going over 3,000 rpm. Cruises at 70 mph at about 2,300 rpm. Interior is luxurious compared to the Honda Civic. Has it over the Honda in every interior and exterior dimension. Feels as fast as our 2001 Honda Accord V6. The build quality and paint are excellent. Im glad I bought it, and not one of the other 10 or so cars in its class.

Great smaller car! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By allipaw - May 6 - 10:00 amThis is the first brand-new car Ive owned. I love it. Ive taken it to the store, on the 25-mile trip to work, and on a 1,000 mile road trip, and everything in between. I wanted a car that would allow an adult to sit comfortably in the back seat. Im 59" and I had to sit partially sideways in the back of the Civic I test drove. Not so with the Corolla. Two adults, both taller than me, sat comfortably in the back of my Corolla on a round trip of several hundred miles!

A Compromise - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By carsal67 - May 6 - 10:00 amThis car is a compromise. It performs well generally, but lacks the engineering and careful design of a more expensive car, such as the old Volvo I owned previously. Ive had two problems fixed under warranty. The trunk remote cable was replaced (wouldnt work), and a half- shaft seal was replaced after I noticed a transmission oil leak. Fuel economy is not that impressive for a small car. On balance, its a decent car for the price, with enough space for a small family, good highway performance, and a nice range of standard features.
