Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Love my Yota!! - 2006 Toyota Corolla

I bought my Corolla CE new in 07/2006. 134,000+ miles on it and engine and AT still great! Other than regular maintenance, Ive only had to replace a wheel bearing, brake caliper, shoes and pads, and front rotors. Of course, here in Maine we have lots of frost heaves and potholes to break for so I guess that explains it. My baby goes great in snow with all season radials and Ive never gotten stuck anywhere except in my yard when we had 6 inches of crust. Love the roomy trunk! Recently, the clock works only intermittently and is driving me nuts, but I guess I can deal with that. I was nearly T-boned by a Jeep one day but floored it and got almost out of his way. He hit me on the back of the rear passenger side fender/bumper. I was surprised to see that the only damage to my car was a small piece broken out of the bumper. Gas mileage is great! Tires seem to wear fast even with regular rotation, but that may just be the tires. I honestly expect Ill get well over 300,000 miles out of this car, which I purchased for Toyotas reliability and longevity. I do wish the paint was better though - it chips very easily. All in all, its a great car and I would recommend this car to anyone!

  • Good on gas, horrible build quality. - 2012 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car to get out of my gas guzzler of an SUV in a highlander. I was happy when I bought it but my tires and rims were stolen 3 days later and that just ruined my whole experience with this car. Its great on gas, $30 bucks gets you a full tank and over 350 miles in range. This is an point A to point B car, no more. This car gets no turning heads, jealous looks, except maybe from gas guzzling truck and SUV owners, but thats it. This start to fall apart with the cheap plastics and I had to snap them back into place every single time I got into this car, horrible build quality. Seats were really comfortable for cloth seats.

  • reliable car, more power desired though. - 2001 Toyota Corolla

I now have driven this car for over 3 years, it has 57k miles and Ive only had to buy an airflow meter since my last review and I installed it myself to save money. The rest is usual upkeep, wheel alignment, air filter, fluid & oil changes, ect. No more hassles with repairs at dealerships for years now thankfully so the car has been problem free since its rough start. I have found that 93 octane gas eliminates the foul odor, the other octanes cause it to smell bad.

  • My 2004 Corolla S - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I traded a 2002 Corolla which was ok but did not like. My 2004 Corolla is much peppier, smoother on shifts with automatic and has a tighter suspension. It is easy to drive on Interstate and accelerates well to merge into traffic. Engine is quieter than my old one and idles so smooth I have to check the Tach to see if it is still running--- The new remodled and engineered Corolla is a job well done by Toyota---TC

  • the car of the under paid - 2004 Toyota Corolla

nice drive nice exterior but the worst interior also not enough power for the size of the car..........

  • Pretty Nice - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I just got this car used with 6,726 miles on it for 13.6k which I think was a lot, but the dealer said it was a demo car so no one owned before me. I like the fact that it runs so smooth and picks up speed..sometimes a little too much. I dont even realize it sometimes and Im going 60mph on a residential street. I wish I had power doors and locks, but the CD player is pretty good. I also get that rotten egg smell at times which I think is very unpleasant and Toyota needs to fix that problem. Everyone I know likes it and says it has more power than they thought. I had a 1989 Honda Accord before and I loved it, but I think Toyota is pretty good too.

  • 42,000 miles of smiles!!!! - 2011 Toyota Corolla

I cant imagine these horrid reviews other than to think that its sour grapes Mazda and Honda owners trolling. I have over 40K miles of hard mileage calculations, and I have NEVER turned in less than 34 mpg. The lifetime average of my Corolla is a handsome 37.7 mpg (go to Fuelly.com where I post as The Rolla). Never have I had any serious issue with my Canadian-made Corolla. Gripes? OK, it gurgles softly sometimes once you just begin to move forward. The seat height adjuster sometimes gets pushed down getting into and out of the car. Maybe its a little boring to drive, but at a paltry $17,146 out the door, yeah try to hang with that, overpriced, 20 mpg Mazda zoom-zoom gas hog.

  • An all-around nice car - 1996 Toyota Corolla

A good family car. Rides nice. Looks nice. Feels nice.

  • Nice!! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I replaced a 1989 corolla with this 2003 corolla. I am very happy with this purchase. I test drove the 02 civic and the focus. The focus has great handling, but reliability and future resale value are very important to me, thats why the corolla won my dollars.
