Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Love my Corolla! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Graham - March 8 - 11:16 amI got a 2009 Corolla LE. My mom loves it and she and I think the handling is better than we expected, has great fuel mileage, tackles corners with ease, comfortable. I do not know why people complain about the steering, could it be the tires?

My Corolla - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By mtc - March 8 - 10:40 amAverage about 30-33MPG with a healthy mix of city and highway driving. I can fit my 3 teenagers in the back seat, hockey sticks up the middle and two full hockey bags in the trunk. Car starts, runs, warms up, wonderfully.

I am very happy with my purchase which, by the way, was smooth and quick considering buying a car is usually a pain. Thanks to Cox toyota in Burlington, NC.

Great on gas and great to drive handles awesome. I also own an 05 Corolla and got to say that Toyota did a great job on the new design, a must to test drive.

Very good economy car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Frank - March 1 - 4:40 pmThe Corolla features a timing chain rather than the usual belt, and has variable valve timing on both camshafts. The mileage is acceptable, although the speedometer reads about 2 mph fast at 35 mph. The fuel flow indicator shows 35.4 mpg after 1800 total miles, but the actual fuel consumption is 33.1 mpg. Adjusted for the previously mentioned speedometer error, thats about an actual 31 mpg. It has much more power than expected, and the full-time electric power steering is O.K. when I became accustomed to it. Id buy it again, and the price is right compared with the available competition.

Great Car - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Jason - February 24 - 3:13 pmCorrolla gets 33mpg driving alot of small trips. Anyway this car has a lot of pep for engine size/fuel economy. Also, it looks cool. The body kit really makes it look good. The interior is preety cool in black and a leather steering wheel. Features are are great for an entry level car. Lots of room.

Buy this car! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By stacey - February 23 - 1:43 pmGREAT MPGs - 38.1 mpg combined (per dashboard computer) - I drive 90 mi/day (mostly hwy) @ speed limit. Speeding reduces MPG. Pluses: not expensive, nice looking, comfortable seats, roomy, high quality everything. Easy shifting, Fog lights, Auto light on, Clock, Trip calculator, Exterior, Ro braking, VSC, Traction Control.

More Like a Lexus . . . - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Natasha Darlink - February 23 - 2:00 amIt came down to the Mazda 3, Honda Civic, and Toyota Corolla. My wife liked the styling of each, but she was not too keen on the Mazdas build origin. The Honda gave a taut, sporty ride (like her previous 2000 Mercury Cougar), but she ended up chosing the Corolla because of its "increased sophistication" over the Civic.
