Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Cant Get More Car for Your Change - 1999 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Cars being my hobby, I tested out the many models competing in this class. Although the Civic came the closest, it was a lot more expensive, the interior seemed a bit cheaper, and it was definitely not built for tall persons such as I. The Corolla felt much roomier. It came with the Gold Package and felt as close as you can get to a Lexus for change youd find in your couch (almost). Yes, there are cheaper models, but none compare in reliability or quality. Coupled with a manual transmission (automatic felt a bit sluggish) its the greatest value on the market (and retains it for a while as well).

  • Great looks with a cheap tag - 2003 Toyota Corolla

The car is good. It looks good in and out but the engine is kind of noisy compared to other new cars. The seats are comfortable though the fabric collects lints easily. With the engine, I believe it needs more power especially when you live in San Francisco. So far, Im satisfied with this car...it looks expensive though its not. I got it at $16,998 (with tax, etc. $18,700 )... with power windows/locks, security system, 6 speakers, alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and floor mats (Combination D).

  • Over 200k and still going - 2002 Toyota Corolla

My Corolla is just reaching 244,500 miles and is still going strong. So far, the only thing Ive had to replace is the normal; oil filter, air filter, tires, and brakes. I absolutely love my car and Im glad its lasted this long.. I know the day will come when old Rollo retires, and it will be a sad day indeed.

  • Llights on alarm - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I have 500 miles on this car and am very happy with it. The only problem I have is the warning chime for lights on and key left in ignition. Its virtually inaudible. Brought to the dealer for repair. They told me nothing could be done under warranty but for 180 dollars they could fix it. Left a bad taste

  • Best Car Ever - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Buying a Toyota Corolla was by far one of the best choices I have made. I needed a fuel efficient car that also had a good look and feel to it. Thats exactly what I got in return.

  • Toyota quality still slipping! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is my 6th Toyota and the worst of the lot. 3 recalls and several trips to fix broken trim, HVAC problems, engine issues etc. Toyota quality for 2010 is the worst Ive seen, heard, or experienced. I think Im done with Toyota and unless they do a quick turnaround, they are not worth their premium price. The interior design is lame and the HVAC system is laughably ridiculous - a chimp could have come up with a better design. The engine is already getting wheezy and noisy.

  • Not Perfect - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

The handling of the car in wonderful, making it joy to drive, especially if you got the sunroof option like I did. The styling is refreshing and makes the car standout in the crowd. The downside is the road noise at higher speeds is more pronounced. My psg. side arm rest is pulling loose from the door already. (American workmenship?) Plus the recall,7 days after i bought the car, for loose bolts. I did buy one of the very first cars to hit the market. Maybe in the rush certain Q.C. was over looked. Hopefully they have been corrected.

  • Fuel Saver - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I have owned my Toyota Corolla for 4 years; I have never had any mechanical problems with it. The Corolla is a very reliable car but I am not impressed with the overall build quality of the car (very flimsy). The car is made from cheap materials, the interior plastic trims scratch very easily, the carpet is cheap and nasty it is impossible to vacuum. In my opinion the Corolla has a good exterior and interior design. Surprisingly it handles vey well is snowy conditions. This is a very fun car to drive. The engine has excellent pick up and gets excellent gas mileage 25/34.

  • IÂ’m not impressed - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

The electric power steering produce vague steering feels, it is pretty comfortable and easy to drive at lower speed. On the highway it gets tossed around easily, very odd. Cruise control isnt included in the pricey XLE base price and it still uses plastic hubcaps whereas most of competitors use alloy wheels in their upper versions. Alarm system is activated at dealer for only $600.00! Brakes clank when itÂ’s released at lower speed. Normal road vibration starting around 20 miles per hour creates dash noise and it squeeks, which get hided for wind noise around 55 miles per hour. At this point my only hope is the reliability and reputation of previous version remains on this 2009 model.
