Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I Believe This Car Will Last Forever! - 1995 Toyota Corolla
By doctorken2k - May 23 - 2:56 pmMy family bought this car new 15 years ago and after two major accidents and having the belts, the starter, and alternator replaced, this car is still going strong after 204,000 miles. The only time this car goes to the shop is to have the brakes changed and tires replaced, rotated, or balanced and that is a rare thing for this car. I change the oil myself. I never had a transmission problem out of this car either. Although this car will probably last forever, its body will not. The paint is chipping and interior is detoriating, but that comes with ever old car. Soon, I will be getting another Toyota or Scion although there has been recalls. Those recalls will pass like time and Toyota will become a reliable brand again. I am afraid to drive anything else especially the big 3!

CE Model - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Alex31 - May 22 - 2:00 amI just recently bought the Toyota CE automatic. The car is great to drive, and it beats buying a Hyundai anyday of the year, however there is one slight problem with the car is that there is not enough legroom in the front seats, especially if you are 6.5ft. Other than that the car is a must for any first time buyers, as nothing can compete with a Corolla!!

Tight Car - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By lunarmist - May 22 - 2:00 amMuch more room than the 2002s and has a more appealing exterior. The only complaints are a noisy engine during acceleration and the steering wheel is too close to the dash which causes tall drivers to drive with their arms extended. Overall a very nice car. The Altima is nowhere near the car this one is as far as build quality.

The New Class Leader - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By JasonC - May 22 - 2:00 amThe 2003 Corolla is a top-notch compact sedan - there is no hype! I have the 2002 Civic brochure and can say that the 2002 Civic LX is not at all comparably-equipped to the Corolla LE. In fact, the base Corolla LE is better equipped than a Civic EX without cruise control, ABS, moonroof, and alarm - at LX prices. When faulty comparisons are made between the Civic LX and the Corolla LE, individual reviewers forget that the Corolla has body-color exterior appointments, larger tire/wheel package, remote keyless entry w/panic, CD player, drivers seat height adjustment, outside temperature gauge, daytime running lights with automatic control, and the availability of ABS.

Faithful - 2001 Toyota Corolla
By Rod Stodghill - May 18 - 9:46 amExcellent, faithful and true. No repairs or maintenance problems. Good gas mileage. Great car for around town and little small for a family of five. Exactly what I expect from a Toyota: faithful and long lasting, built with excellence. You buy it and forget about it. Well designed.

Affordable Dependability - 1997 Toyota Corolla
By Jim40 - May 18 - 2:00 amWeve had this 1997 Corolla since December 1999. Its a well built, dependable car. Good styling, cranks every time, well-designed inside and out. Its easy to manuever in traffic and its very easy to park. We have no plans to sell it; well keep it for many years to come. We traded an 87 Ford Taurus for this car. The Taurus gave us nothing but trouble. It was always in the shop for mechanical repairs. Weve have never had to put the Corolla in the shop. Keep up the good work, Toyota!!

Great little car. - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Tim Holt - May 18 - 2:00 amComming from a Honda Accord this is quite a rewarding experience. The Corolla sits higher than the Honda for better visibality and has a very positive steering feel to it. My wife loves it because she is a short person. It is quiet riding for such a small car and is fun to drive. Comfort and amenities for this price range are excellent. The reliability of this car speaks for itself. I thought I was stepping down to a lower price range, but was pleasently supprised.

2015 Corollary LE Plus fits the bill. - 2015 Toyota Corolla
By Jonathan Tuck - May 17 - 4:41 amI needed a replacement for the 2013 prius c I had been leasing and when Toyota sent me an offer to end my lease early for another Toyota vehicle I decided it wouldnt hurt to just look. I had been doing research on the new Corolla as it comes with features my Prius C didnt have - fog lights, rear camera and heated mirrors - all important here in New England. Took an LE Plus for a test and was pleasantly surprised at the acceleration and handling. While it might not be a Mazda 3, having now put almost 4k miles on it including a 1500 mile trip mostly highway, I cant complain about my average of 44mpg combined. Im not a lead foot but getting that kind of highway mileage when having to keep up with the flow of traffic I consider to be pretty good considering my Prius c only got 46-48 highway and my wifes full size prius gets about 53. Its not unusual to be able to get 50 on our country roads and state highways. For a larger person the comfort is good and there is plenty of interior room - even the back seats are comfortable. In what I was looking for regarding performance, reliability, comfort and trunk space with the added benefit of Toyotas always spectacular gas mileage I have no complaints. While it isnt the sporty car some want, has perhaps less room than for others and not all the fancy techno toys the rest may want - instead of excelling in any or all categories rather it performs well in most. An above average car that gives reliable and comfortable transportation at a reasonable price with exceptional mileage thrown in as a bonus. Maybe not the car for those with the most discriminating tastes - but for the rest of us just perhaps exactly what we were looking for - and thats how and why Toyota designed the Corolla the way they have.

Great everyday car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By jba888 - May 14 - 11:23 amI bought this car because I drive a total of 60-80 miles a day, stop and go, on and off engine city driving. My first choice was a Prius but the wait period is up to 6 months. It is overpriced plus marked-up price by the dealers made me change my mind. Then I saw this beautifully designed S. It is very easy to drive, has roomy interior, less road noise, comfortable sport seats, and my 2 boys think its a cool car. With my daily driving pattern of 95% city driving, gas mileage on my first fill up was at 26 mpg. Computation was based on total miles driven from last fill up divided by total gas pumped, and not based on mpg computer on the dash board. Im expecting mpg will increase later on
