Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Corolla 2010 - Great, save the Steering - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Bought this car after many solid reviews (all before it became known about the acceleration problems). Initially thought the steering was different (electric assist), but that once used to it, it would not be an issue. Wrong. Toyota needs to step up to the plate and resolve the high speed (highway) wandering it does. The hydaulic system was far superior and the change was made purely as a cost cutting move. Gas mileage has been as advertised, and have had mileage figures from 33.5 to 38.5 mpg (the gauge is off by 2 to 3 mpg as it shows getting better mileage than you actually are). Frankly, if the steering issue could be resolved, I would rate the driving experience much higher.

  • Not a bad car - 2009 Toyota Corolla

I had a 2001 VW jetta before I bought this car and it was quite a sturdy and solid drive even in string wind, however not nearly as reliable as the 2009 Corolla LE. But the corolla LE is not that sturdy even with VSC option. I still sway quite a bit driving across highway bridges when its windy. Interior is cheap plastic and not enough lighting at night. I have 9,000 miles on it and so far no mechanical issues.

  • Bought on Reputation alone - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Before I went car shopping, I did extensive research on several Makes and Models. Its a lot of money to spend impulsively after all. I decided on Toyota after test driving a Ford Fiesta, Honda Accord, even a MINI Cooper. I found a 2006 Corolla with only 47,500 miles and bought it, based on reputation of reliability/dependability and Toyota earned it. It was a bit pricey, but holds value very well. Decent acceleration for a 1.8Liter, and economy is superb, especially with my driving habits. I enjoy seeing how much I can squeeze out of a tank, and have gotten as much a 44mpg. yes, 44..but I did have a strong tail-wind and no grade for nearly 100 miles on a lonely S. Calif desert road.

As a new Non-American company automobile owner I have to say I am impressed. The build quality is exceptional. I am having a blast driving the Corolla. Just wish I had made the decision to purchase the vehicle earlier. Could have saved us a lot. I drive 26 to 30 miles a year, and if the fuel efficiency I have seen so far continues it will pay for itself in less time than the financing. Toyota makes an awesome product. I am a happy convert.

  • Great Little Big Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Nice economical car that looks classy. Fun to drive, very comfortable and quiet inside, great gas mileage, logical controls and good radio sound package. For its size and type engine class this car is tops. On my wish list only two things: (1) Make Sirius Satelite Radio a standard option from factory rather than me having to install it. (2) With the keyless entry and panic remote already in the vehicle, why not just include the full alarm system rather than making us install it as an option with an aftermarket type control. For the few dollars it would take to complete the alarm system, just make it a full standard item on the LE model.

  • First time Toyota buyer - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I recently just traded in my 06 Saturn Ion for my new 10 Corolla and I couldnt be happier. I havent experienced the wind/steering issue... it did in my Saturn so its one of the things I love about my Toyota. Also, in my Saturn, it constantly felt like I was hydroplaning when driving over a puddle. Not in this car! I feel safe. My only complaint is the position of the clock. Its way too low and difficult to see while driving. Gas mileage seems to be great so far... averaging about 30 MPG and thats city and HWY driving.

  • Toyota Corolla S - 2006 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla S gets excellent gas mileage, which makes for a great commuter car. Its really fun to drive and has a smooth, comfortable ride. Ive received many good complimants from numerous passangers. With the S edition, you not only have fun driving this car, but you also do it in style. Who could have guessed that a Corolla could look this sporty and sharp? I absolutely love my Corolla S and would definitly buy another one if I was looking for a new car. I have had no problems with the car so far.

  • Safe car - 1994 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car new and drove it for the past 13 years without any major problems. I replaced the tires and breaks but nothing else. Was planning to drive this car until it wouldnt run anymore but it was totalled in an accident. Luckily I wasnt seriously hurt because of the way the Toyotas are built. I was on the highway when the accident happened so it could have been much worse than it was. The body of the vehicle took a beating in the accident but nothing came through to the inside of the car. Very safe car!

  • Great Buy - 2006 Toyota Corolla

The 06 Corolla S is a very nice car for the price and for the gas milleage. This car is the perfect size. Not too big or too small. Seats in back are big and roomy.
