Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

My 9 Year Old Wants It When She Turns 16 - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Randy - October 15 - 9:36 amAfter 3 months and 6k miles, my Corolla is exactly as promised. Whether I drive 65 or 85, A/C on or off, the car gets 37-40 mpg. There is plenty of room for 4 adults, and all of their luggage. The ride is pretty good (all highway miles), the handling is very good, and the shifters throw is short, enabling quick shifts, thus enabling the revs to stay high. The car really springs to life above 4000 rpms. Have second thoughts about getting navy blue - it looks great when clean, but the slightest rain will turn it into a mess.

While I admire the styling cues of the Elantra, the built quality, reliability, smooth ride, and reliability of the Corolla takes the win here. - 2013 Toyota Corolla
By amac8 - October 12 - 8:35 pmLets be honest, the interior of the corolla may be antiquated and the engine power may not be as responsive as some other competitors. That being said, this is a nice vehicle to have in your garage. I admire the Hyundai Elantras styling for both the interior and exterior. When i test drove the Elantra everything felt good, but i did not feel the sense of longevity. The civic is also a great choice but to package up to the standards of the Corolla S, I might as well buy a Camry SE. The Corolla S is the best choice here. Everyone speaks about the appearance as boring but My Corolla Grabs eyes on the highway, and it looks similar to the 06-11 Camry S which was #1 in sells for its model years.

My Corolla - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Lori U - October 12 - 2:00 pmOne of the best cars I have owned. I love the new roomier redesign, the handling and especially in todays market the great gas mileage. I have gotten up to 40 mpg on long road trips. Im confident that itll easily run this great for at least 10 years and when in the market, I will most assuredly buy another one.

Unsatisfied - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Delsher - October 8 - 11:10 amI am very unhappy with my corolla S, the vibration of the steering wheel when I stop at the red light is very bad, the RPM fluctuates between 750- 780, and when the heater on sometimes fluctuates between 500-900, went to the dealer and their answer was you are not driving BMW, and that all Corollas vibrate like that.

A Great Little Car - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By Hal Jones - October 8 - 3:53 amThis car makes more sense than any Ive driven in years. First tank of gas gave 40.5 MPG! Room for everything necessary. Cleanly styled, and enough horsepower to make the interstate driving more comfortable. I didnt buy it for racing, but I sure did for gas mileage, and boy did it deliver!

Cheap, reliable car - 2001 Toyota Corolla
By jjc839 - October 7 - 3:25 amBought used, now has 240,000km. Still has the original brakes, not a spot of rust anywhere (Canadian car) and in the winter it gets cold started twice a day every day as this is a commuter car. Havent had a single problem with it. A little underpowered but hey its an economy car. Fuel consumption is 6l/100km in the summer and about 8l/100km in the winter.

Best Car I Own - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By James - October 6 - 2:30 pmWhen deciding which car to have secondary to a 2010 Camaro, (which isnt that fuel efficient) I always thought about getting a Corolla. After test driving an "S" model, I realized some improvements needed to be made in the power-steering sector as well as in the overall power. What the "S" model couldnt deliver, the "XRS" did. With the 2.4L engine, I could actually feel more power when accelerating which was surprising @ 158 hp, as well as the designated "European Tuned Suspension and Steering". The car is a great choice for people who want a deceivingly powerful compact sedan that is fuel efficient and delivers a great ride. The only cons are the left footrest & a mediocre interior.

Thank god its gone! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By electricwitch - October 5 - 10:43 pmJust traded my 2009 corolla S in today for a Honda CR-V. The corolla had a clutch issue. Constantly stalling in traffic. I mentioned it to the dealer, they just insinuated that I needed more "practice with clutch". Well, 35 years is a lot. My other car has a clutch, no problem there and anyone who drove this corolla had issues also. Paid 19k. It was only worth 9k a little over a year later. Cramped, zero headroom, cheap paint job, plastic parts that snap in the cold. It did have good gas mileage tho, and I could have dealt with all of the cosmetic stuff, but the stalling out in traffic thing is just plain dangerous. Didnt want to wait for a recall and maybe become a statistic. Shame on you Toyota!

Weird steering - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By welcomeback? - October 4 - 10:00 amI just bought a 2010 Corolla S 2 days ago. Great around town but very disturbing on the highway because it wanders all over. I only test drove the car in town. Now I dont want to use it for a commuter car. Im wondering if it was damaged in transit or something. It will not track straight!
