Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Awesome little car! - 2003 Toyota Corolla

We bought this car for my wife to drive to work because of her long commute. The great gas mileage is what caught our attention as well as the body style of the "S" model. We purchased the 5 speed and were pleasantly surprised by its power. Its not a sports car by any means but it has good acceleration and reasonable handeling for a car in this price range. It is also very roomy and well built. Im 64" and have plenty of room in any seat. I would recommend this car highly to anyone looking looking for a good all around small sedan. Buy the 5 speed and you will be very satisfied with this little jewel.

  • Ive been converted... - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I had a lot of time to buy a car, and Im loyal to Japan, Honda in particular because Id had an 88 Civic that was frugally equipped but loads of fun to drive and extremely reliable. Disappointed with some Honda test drives, I looked more closely at Subaru and Toyota, and noticed that the ever- conservative Corolla was redesigned and affordable for me. Did lots of research, which led to a test drive and purchase. Im not easily impressed, but this car has impressed me, and of all the cars I test drove, it was the only one I felt really comfortable in.

  • 6 years later - still strong - 1997 Toyota Corolla

Ive had this car for over 6 years now. Unfortunately, I will need to part with it as the kids are older and dont fit comfortably in it any longer. I have only changed the tires on my car, nothing else. I change the oil of course. I loved this car and am sorry that I must part with it.

  • best bang for the buck - 2004 Toyota Corolla

Ive had the car for 7 months and have put 19,000 miles on it. It has great acceleration and is fun to drive. For the money, so far I am very happy with the car.

  • 03 Corolla Gets Less than EPA Mileage - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I never get the EPA numbers Toyota says I should. It is always 4 or 5 mpg less. It rides like a truck. The seat position is cramped, low and uncomfortable, esp. if you sit in it for more than a few minutes. The dealer cant seem to fix the rattle in the front dash, even after four trys, and says Toyota is working to fix the problem. No luck to date.

  • Okay, but nothing to rave about - 2002 Toyota Corolla
    By -

This is an okay car that gets good gas mileage. It started burning oil at around 85,000 miles, and is now going through a quart every 1,000 miles - not what Id expect from a Toyota. It handles okay, but not as well as my 99 Ford Contour, and is really underpowered. Does not do well in snow, but it does start up reliably, even in subzero temps.

  • Cheap exterior and interior - 2009 Toyota Corolla

One of my friends recently backed out into my rear bumper of my corolla, and it wasnt a very light impact, but my whole bumper came off, while his car doesnt even have a scratch. My sister has a 06 corolla, people have hit her car so many times in so many places, but nothing as drastic as a whole part falling off has happened to her. It is very disappointing that such a small accident could do such damage, makes me wonder what would happen if I got hit on a street where people are actually driving 30 mph, instead of 2? Also, the mileage of the car is good, but not good for a Toyota, as I had expected it.

  • Rock Solid and efficient - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Had my car for almost 7 years now and I can say it has been great. Yeah, its not a BMW, but its a easy drive, fuel efficient and has good room for the size. I recently upgraded to a high end VW Passat wagon, and even though it is classier I miss my Toyotas efficiency (wife drives it now).

  • Sweet car!!! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I traded in my SUV for this vehicle about a month ago and I love this car! It is a great combination of comfort, reliability, great MPG, and sweet styling inside and out. Ive taken a few highway trips and averaged 37.5 MPG going 70 mph, and about 40 MPG going 60 mph.
