This Year's Model Updates:

A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.

Pros:
  • Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
Cons:
  • Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

This is my first Toyota purchase and judging from the way my Corolla drives and handles, it wont be my last. It has the get-up-and-go when I need it passing other cars and trucks. It also fits perfectly when Im just cruisin. Right now with gas prices more than $2 a gallon, you cant beat the 30/38 mpg. Im impressed with my Toyota and I have no complaints, only praise for it.

I used to drive an eclipse gs, then got an 05 S because I was looking for something more roomy and reliable. Couldnt have asked for anything better. I think this car is fun to drive too. Had a slight issue with the charcoal canister (gas something), a fluke thing I guess. This car rides so smooth, especially on the highway. So much room and I think its really comfy. Insane how great it is on gas. Def recommend this car.

Purchased new with a 5 speed. Never have had it back to the dealership with any problems. Has enough stuff to get up to freeway speed safely (with some to spare). Road noise noticeable on chip- seal surfaces, but otherwise quite good. Put brakes on @ about 160,000 miles. Have never had to align vehicle and tires still wear evenly. I change oil/filter regularly (about every 5,000 miles) and dont use more than a 1/2 quart between changes. Will pass 200,000 miles this week. My driving is 70/30 freeway/city and I consistently get 35 to 37 mpg. Have gotten as high as 42.5 mpg on long trips. The epitome of function over style. Will buy another one after I have 300,000 miles on this one

  • Just a great value.... - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I just bought a 2005 Corolla LE after driving a 1992 Nissan pickup for almost 200,000 miles. I ran the Nissan as long as I could and have to admit it was the best vehicle I have ever owned. The only part I replaced on it was the starter. Not bad for almost 200,000 miles. The Corolla LE is very smooth and confortable and as all Japanese cars, is very solid and well- built. I was looking at Camrys, but with gas prices in the scary range I went with something a little more fuel- efficient and something with a lower monthly payment. I was showing it to a coworker and she thought it was a Camry

I have the S type and with the peppy engine and all new body design I think this car is a bargain. I wish had known about the XRS before I bought the S.

I have enjoyed every minute of owning my Corolla. The car is very reliable and even made out well when I took it on vacation for a week in the mountains where the roads were extremely icy. The interior has a lot of space, so even men enjoy driving it.

  • I couldnt ask anymore of a car. - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This is my first Toyota and I have to ask myself why it took so long for me to buy one. Ive owned just about every other car make on the planet at one time or another. At one time I even owned a Fiat. But this Toyota has a jewel box build quality about it. Its large enough to be comfortable. It has a large trunk. It rides quiet and smooth. And it gets great gas mileage. Im averaging over 35 mpg. Ive had no problems with the car and after reading other reviews I dont expect any. Another benefit is the resale value. This is a great car and I highly recommend it.

Perfect car for someone my age. Small enough to handle in tight spots and reliable as to engine and fuel economy.Never had an accident so body is excellent. I like the seat position as it is a little higher than in a Honda I previously owned. Current mileage 11000.

I have now owned the car for over a year and a half. Im 22 and may be a little ruff with it at times. I love the car, but had a few problems with it. At 22,000 miles two tires blew and by 30,000 I had replace the other two. At about 15,000 miles the fuel injector had to be replaced already. The clutch fried out at 37,000 miles and had to pay $1,400 to have it replaced. But over all I wouldnt trade it for anything, I dont know why its just a nice car.

After doing lots of research and test driving, I decided on the Corolla, and its been amazing. I love the way it handles, the manual transmission shifts very smoothly, and other than routine maintenance Ive had no mechanical problems at all. The warranty is hard to beat, and fuel economy is fantastic--anywhere from 32- 40 mpg! Im short, so the size is perfect, but tall people might feel as if the drivers seat doesnt go back far enough.
