Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Reliable - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By jbl - January 20 - 10:00 amOwned the car for 6 years. The kind that you just fill with gas and drive, no need to ever open the hood. The stick feels as firm and smooth as in the day I bought it. Mid life crisis determines me to look for a flashier car. I wish I found a better reason to sell. Really feeling guilty about it. I can only hope that those tempting Acuras will be at least as dependable.

love this car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By dianelhair - January 20 - 10:00 amBeing a very picky person, I researched cars for over a year because I was driving a 13 year old car and new its time was near. I read in both Consumer Reports and some other magazine, (cant remember which one), that this car was extremely reliable, had great trunk space, more than a couple of others that I was considering, and plus, the style is great. The fuel economy is not quite as good a a hybrid but then it was several thousands of dollars less than one. It is smaller than my old car and therefore easier to park, maneuver, and quicker to wash! It is everything I want, looks, fuel economy, ease of driving, great visibility and beatable reliability.

Serious crosswind problem - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By cchi - January 16 - 2:00 amI tested the new 2003 Corolla several times during the windy condition. The transmission is smooth, turning is accurate, acceleration is good, and gas mileage is excellent for a small call with lots of interior space. But do not drive it over 65 MPH in northeastern states during the winter time. The car can change one line at strong crosswind. I dont recommend to drive this car when passing a truck, raining day, or wintery condition. Its just unsafe. Like the previous model, the body is too wide and the tires are too narrow cause the car unstable in high speed.

Wonderful Commuter - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By DriverMike - January 12 - 7:36 pmI have had the car for two months so far and have over 5K miles on it and no problems. Low tire pressure gauge has come on, that may be a nuisance. The car rides great and feels like a baby Lexus. I drive 200 miles per day. The A/C is awsemome and the 6CD player is great!. I am extremely pleased so far.

Bought it without a test drive - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Mhoerman - January 11 - 10:00 amWe just bought our 03 Corolla CE w/ automatic. We bought it without a test drive. Even though we could have gotten a comparable Civic for $500 less, this is our car. It drives great, performs well, and has 12 features that my last new car (a 1990 Civic didnt have). After test driving the Focus, which was very spare, noisy and drove like it already had 100k on the odometer, this car is tops.

No more American Cars for me! - 2002 Toyota Corolla
By JM Tucker - January 11 - 5:43 amReliability is the name of the game for me my Toyo is tops! When I turn that key I want the car to start, and it always does. My 2002 Corolla is very comfortable(Im 510 and about 285 lbs.) and I enjoy driving it. I have 65000 miles on my 2002 and have only had regular oil changes and scheduled maintenance. This car is very affordable to maintain. I just bought my stepson a 2005 Corolla who is in college and he loves his as well. American cars have along way to go in comparable quality.

awesome car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Vanessa - January 10 - 7:13 pmVery pleased with the Toyota Corolla. Comfotable ride, great on gas. The only thing that I would change on the 2005 Corolla is more comfotable seats for long distance driving and remote trunk opening.
