Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Good little car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla has been mechanically sound throughout my ownership. Other than gas and oil, there have been no outside expenses. I got the 5 sp, which I think is a must for a small car, and have not been disappointed. The car handles well, brakes well, and gets up to hwy speeds with no problem. Living in NYC, I do not approach the sticker mpg claims. Generally around 25-27 around town and 33 on hwy. My only complaint is the ease in which this car is dented. Both front quarter panels have been dented, and simply from someone leaning on them. But overall, this has been a quality car that I will be trading in (need more space for growing family). Good job Toyota.

  • Car of the century - 1999 Toyota Corolla

Im happy with Corolla I got, because is very reliable, no ifs and buts about it. Also is excellent in gas mileage department, especially for the size of the car. Im a tall guy, and I fit inside, just enough to be happy with it. A little smaller, and it would be a different opinion, and Im 6"1. Another thing I didnt know about this car, is, that is very cheap to fix too, for an import. Easy access to all car parts, and also it has an amazingly big trunk. What can I say, except that I will try to upgrade the year of it, and that I recommend it , to all people, and more to ones that do a lot of driving to work every day.

  • Great car - 2008 Toyota Corolla

Love my new Toyota Corolla LE. Drives and handles great. Love the 6 CD changer and stereo system. Plenty of room and storage space. I live in FL and need to use A/C quite a bit. Im only getting 24 miles per gallon; not 30/38 as advertised. Does the A/C use 6 miles/gallon??? Is anyone else having this problem in hot weather. Its a 4 cylinder. I have changed my driving habits to increase my mileage such as driving the speed limit, no quick starts and stops and lowered the A/C to a warmer temp.

The 2007 Corolla drives incredibly smooth for a car its size with great fuel economy. I fill up my tank once every 15 days and it only takes $22.00!

  • Value Car - 2014 Toyota Corolla

Its been about two months now since I purchased my 2014 Corolla LE ECO Plus. Its a nice budget car that has a stylish design. It is great on fuel economy for non-hybrid car. I spend about $10-$15 less compared to my previous car per month in gas. Although there is one issue that has me scratching my head. About a week ago, the engine did a "barf" to sort of speak. The engine somewhat stalled when I tried to start it. Once I got it started, put it in gear and then it would stall again. I brought the car to the dealer and they said there was a computer software failure that caused the problem. Really?!?

  • Absolute peace of mind - 2003 Toyota Corolla

This car was given to me at 60,000 miles by my grandmother. I was young, did not know the value of having a car. This car survived the most rigorous trials a immature teen could put it through. Never failed through the abuse. Only thing that I can say I did correctly was change the oil at every 3-4K miles. I am now a more responsible, loyal owner to my Corolla with 110K miles on it now. It still runs like new. I will preach the value of this car to any and everybody. You simply cannot beat the craftsmanship that was invested in this vehicle. I love this car, and will drive it for a million miles!

  • Rock Solid - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Ten years ago I bought my 2003 Corolla LE brand new, and it has been rock solid in terms of reliability. In the ten years Ive owned this car (115,000 miles) I have had only one repair that was not usual wear-and-tear (air conditioner went out). Everything else has stood the test of time. So I give this car a 5 in terms of value, build quality, and reliability. As for performance, comfort, and fun to drive, the Corolla is admittedly not top-of-the-line (youre not going to win races with this thing or feel like youre sitting in a recliner), and gas mileage by todays standards isnt spectacular. But, I trust this thing just as much today as I did the day I bought it and that says something.

  • Not as good as expected. - 2016 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I recently purchased this car as a replacement for a 2016 KIA soul that had been flooded. This car is not even half the car the KIA soul is. I have had this car for 6 months and it has 1387 miles on it. The brakes are making noise, the car is very sluggish on acceleration. and it gets not even half what it stated on fuel mileage. I will not be buying another Toyota Corolla. I have owned a Tacoma before and it was better than this car and got better gas mileage. If you are considering this car, go actually drive a KIA soul its much better has better features for same cost or less.

  • Best pick for overall efficiency - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I bought this car with 108,000 miles on it, but as we all know that is just getting one of these babies broken in. I have had zero probs with mine, just an oil change. Car runs great, great design, excellent gas mileage, I will not own anything other than a Toyota!
