Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • The Sweet Spot - 2007 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla has moved into the sweet spot in the American car scene that the Camry held for years. The car is as big as a 96 Camry inside and will meet most drivers needs as well. The Camry has become more car than most of us need now. Gas prices have many Americans looking for a new sweetheart. Corolla is much more refined than before. The ride is smooth and quiet and there is plenty of power. The fabrics are even Camrylike, soft yet durable. Everything seems to be right where you would have put it yourself. Just the right car at the right time.

  • Regrets - 2004 Toyota Corolla

The moment I bought this car I started to hear rattling noise coming from the dash. I also dont like that they seamed to move the brake and gas pedals forward which makes it very uncomfortable to drive. And when I move the seat back to make adjustments my arms are almost fully extended and the door frame to my left now obstructs my view on the left. Making it unsafe when I have to change lanes. I regret buying this car.

Owned a Jetta before. This Corolla is a beauty!! Not much to complain, except for that dashboard gap above the radio/CD, occassional dashboard rattling noise & occasional brake noise when backing up in the morning. Other than that, its a terrific car!!!

  • Its cheap and reliable transportation - 2009 Toyota Corolla

This is a typical Corolla... plain, boring, reliable. Its a great appliance for getting from point A to point B. There is nothing that makes me smile while driving this car, other than knowing it is much more reliable than my GM cars and truck and gets excellent mileage per gallon. If you want a car that does the job without a lot of fuss, one that doesnt draw attention, negatively or positively, then this might be the car for you. If youre looking for a thrilling driving experience, this is not it. We got exactly what we wanted with this car- no hassles and reliability. After being a GM owner, those are wonderful things to have in a car!

I traded a 02 Chevy pickup for this 06 Corolla. We leased it for 0% and then bought it after 36 months for $8900.00. We have 58000 miles on it and it has never failed even at 30 below zero. Some things I thought they (Toyota) would change with the 2010, more interior lights, lighted ignition, better radio. We drive 30 plus miles ever day 7 days a week. We love 30 plus miles per gallon, good ride, nice room inside, good heater. We have had not one thing go wrong, just put gas and oil in it. Toyota Quality!!

I bought it used a few years ago with 50,000 or so miles on it. I now have around 105,000 miles. So far it has been pretty reliable. We have not had any major problems so far. The engine still runs well, the transmission shifts smoothly in all temps and weather conditions. The audio system isnt great, but acceptable. The interior has a decent amount of space for a small car, and the trunk is pretty big. Road noise is average, but I always have music playing. Heat and A/C still work great. It has a very awkward steering wheel position and the handling is not very good. The gas is very touchy.

  • Nice Car - 2001 Toyota Corolla

We bought our car right after we got married in 2001. We have had no problems with it and find the car to be very economical. The Factory tires only lasted to 13000 miles, but I have heard that is the case with all factory tires. Recently inspected the brakes and the pads have 60% life after 45000 miles! (It is a stick) The car has enough pep and it is fun to drive beacuse it is a stick. The front seats were a little uncomfortable at first.
