Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Corolla S Rocks!! - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Laura L - May 7 - 2:00 amAfter owning a 95 Corolla, the only car I looked at for my first new car was the 2004 Corolla S. It is a wonderful car and seems much roomier than past models. A great first new car for anyone!!

Great Car But..... - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By john7 - May 7 - 2:00 amThis is absolutely great and fun car to drive! Exterior is beautifully designed especially with the sports package... A trip from LA back to Bay Area was effortless. Nice Audio system... However, the car visted the dealership for more than three times in the first year. The rubber molding on the top of the car shrunk and flooded the car ceiling. The celling and side pillar had to be replaced as algae started growing in the car!!! Rear seatbelt for the right rear passenger always disappeared into the bottom of the car. Battery had to be replaced once. Lots of blindspots especially in left front and rear right. Lousy sunshade design.

Update - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Don - May 3 - 6:13 pmThis is an update of my earlier review. Now that we have had our Corolla for several months I can be more accurate about the mpg. With careful driving we can get 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, using the AC will reduce this to about 28/38 mpg. This is fantastic for any car. Fast drivers will of course get less. We drive between 65 and 70 on the freeways. All in all the Corolla is a great value for the money.

Never Again! - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By djyi21 - May 2 - 12:36 pmBy far the worst investment I ever made! There was paint over the clear coat on the car and you could feel it. I took it back to the dealership and said there was nothing they could do about it. My factory tires lasted about 50k miles. My suspension is creaky and my car is leaning on the drivers side. My belt snapped at 40k miles. My brake pedal is loose and wiggles! The lack of power on this thing is horrible. It handles horribly. Dont ever put a roof rack on this car. I have one now and it just acts like a sail. The car loses an immense amount of power. Ive invested to much money into this car. I wish I would have never bought it.

Good transportation - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By rdmiami - April 28 - 9:33 amThe Corolla is a great car to commute. Thats it! it is not a fun car to drive, it is just ok. If youre looking for fun (performance and handling), look somewhere else. Its a great, grandma car!

Very Reliable - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By kctoyotaowner - April 28 - 9:20 amI bought this car in 2000 after my H.S. graduation. I wanted something that would last me longer than a typical first car. I got what I wanted! This vehicle has carried me through several moves, college, and now a daily commute in my career. It handles well in snow and ice and have never had any issues with the A/C and heating. I have replaced the struts, tires, battery, and brakes - everything to be expected. Im at 100,000+ and still going! Some loss of pickup with passengers but overall, a great car.

Awesome Buy, Very Pleased - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Brittany - April 27 - 4:50 amI bought a 2010 Corolla S in January of 2010. I LOVE this car. Ive never had a front wheel drive before this car, always all wheel drive. It drives great, it looks great. The interior is so sharp looking and so is the exterior. The only thing is, when its SUPER windy outside, the steering isnt excellent, but not horrible at all. I get GREAT gas mileage, I drive 20 minutes to and from work everyday and I fill up once a week. I also dont drive liek a grandma either and I still get great mileage. When my lease is up, I will be definately buying another Toyota. I suggest going with the S model, its 300% better then the LE and base.

Was satisfied, but now skeptical - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Justine - April 25 - 7:03 amI recently bought the 2010 Corolla in July, and I am amazed with the fuel efficiency. I just took my car into the dealership for its first oil change. The dealership informed me that a recalled part had to be replaced in my car. When I drove my car home, I noticed this high pitched noise coming from the left front end. The noise occurs when I accelerate, especially at speeds greater than 60mph. I also notice that it occurs when Im in cruise control. When I took my car back, they couldnt figure out the problem, even after 3 test drives. They initially thought that wind was causing the noise, so they replaced some molding. I still hear the noise.

Boring, generic, poorly crafted - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By rfk - April 24 - 12:43 pmI purchased this car new in 05 and about 5,000 mile ago the rattling around the driver and passenger windows and door and dash (front and rear) has become unbearable. Its gotten to the point that I just want to smash it into a wall. My daily drive has become a test of my patience and hearing (from having to blast my stereo).
