Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Whatcha got? - 2003 Toyota Corolla

When looking into the economy, commuter car that is fun to drive and under $17, 000 our options are limited. My choices were between the Honda Civic, Mazda Protege, Nissan Sentra and the Toyota Corolla. To make a long story short, the Toyota was the best overall value. From the quality to the peppy performance, I was impressed. The price (under $15k) was amazing, and it is the first time I left a dealership without buyers remorse.

  • Very nice car - 2003 Toyota Corolla

I just owned this car for two weeks, I like everything of this car, powerful, roomy, quiet. I felt its much better than Civic.

  • Good car but.... - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Have had the car fo 10 mths. There is an extremely annoying rattling sound originating from the drivers side dash, also car slips forward sometimes when at a complete stop-very odd, almost as if some one has rear ended you. Also ? that there may be an issue w/ catalytic converter, awful egg smell. Dealer ran emmisions test and said it was fine, however, after some digging on the web found that hundreds (and hundreds) of people all over tyhe US w/ 2003 model report same problem. Mysteriously we all get the same response from dealer. I know there is multiple reasons that may explain the smell, have tried all suggestions from dealer none of which have worked.

  • Best Small Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

For years I considered buying a Toyota but I didnt because the dealers were notorious for not discounting off the MSRP. That doesnt seem to be true anymore. I used Edmunds internet buying advice and I was able to purchase a well-equiped LE for well under invoice price, plus I got the rebate. I looked into the usual supects (Civic, Mazda 3, Sentra, etc) and the Toyota has them beat in almost all categories. The Corolla seems to have a combination of performance and comfort the others dont seem to match. So far it is a very enjoyable vehicle.

All I can say is what a car. It has all the things it needs to suceed.

  • Paint is a problem - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

The paint on the corrola is easily damaged. I got hit by an egg the second week I had it .I Washed the egg off as soon as I came home. There was already chips off the paint on the passenger door by the handle from the egg. I remember as a teenager My AMC pacer got hit by eggs and I did not wash them off till a few days later and nothing happened to that paint!Luckily it drives, runs and looks much better than the Pacer! The only other problem I have is when I run the AC it fogs up my windshield on humid days. It goes well on he highway. The gas mileage is great especially on the highway. The added size gives it a nice overall comfort.

  • Not the Toyata Quality I Have Known - 2001 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car used with 30,00 miles on it and have had regular maintenance performed. Have have had a few major problems that were costly to repair. Common Toyota problem, per my body shop guy: the door handle mechanism broke requiring $800 repair. My body shop guy says he sees about 15 Toyotas a year that have this problem; from Corollas to Avalons and Toyota hasnt done any recall. My roof paint is chipping and is rusted, so poor paint quality because no accidents to account for this. I fear this repair. My gas mileage is only about 24 city, 32 highway. Ive always owned Toyotas and have enjoyed them, and this is my only mediocre one, but makes me want to go Honda next time around.

  • Will it last forever? - 1996 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I was looking for a cheap, used and reliable car. I found this 1996 Toyota Corolla DX. Its dark green w/tan interior & a spoiler. Its a 5 spd manual, PW/PL/P mirrors, cruise, A/C. Everything works on this car, even the A/c. It has 158,800 miles on it, but it runs like it has 58,000 on it. Its fun to drive, easy to drive and easy to park. A little light at higher speeds, but not bad. Rides ok, a bit rough on bumps. Im averaging 30 MPG around town, a wee bit of highway and A/C use. If you can find a used Corolla in good shape, dont hesitate to buy it!

  • 2009 Toyota Corolla S - 2009 Toyota Corolla

This is without a doubt the whole package. The redesigned Corolla is the perfect daily driver and small family car with its great fuel economy and new styling. In my opinion there isnt a better looking, fuel efficient, everyday small family car at this price point. I just picked my Corolla up yesterday and love it so far!! The car is smooth, quiet and handles great whether Im on the highway or driving around town. I test drove the Sentra and Civic as well but the Corolla came out on top by far!

  • Stylish saver - 2014 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I purchased a Toyota as a second car. Im very impressed with the fuel mileage that has been averaging 34-38 mpg. The car looks great, but is pretty unremarkable in performance, handling and overall fun (then again I did not expect much of a driving experience or performance out of a Corolla)
