Another excellent Toyota product. I owned a 2000 corolla and the 2004 adds a bit more sportiness to the equation. It handles better and is a bit more refined than its predecessor. Mileage is still excellent and power from the engine is above average for its class. Overall I am very happy with this car.

I had a Camry that I loved. It averaged 30 mpg. It was a 1993 so time for a new car. I decided to go down to a Corolla since I didnt need such a large car. But I am so disappointed. I am averaging 17 miles a gallon city driving. I took it back to the dealership and they claim that is the average for this car. Of course when I bought it the sticker said 29 mpg for city driving. I would never have purchased it if it said 17 mpg. I did buy it used. It was 3 years old with low mileage. Also was certified. But have already had dead battery twice, which they did replace.

  • Poor Quality in a Corolla - 2004 Toyota Corolla

My family has owned Toyotas for as long as I can remember. We had a great 1984 corolla that lasted FOREVER, over 200,000. My 2004 corolla however is not match. I am rolling up on 100,000 miles and had more small problems that I can stand. So far in the a 6ish years that I have had the car, I have had to replace the serpentine belt twice and the pulley system once. To add insult to injury, the belt started squeaking again with in a year of it being replaced! The lights on the gear shift are burnt out and Ive had to have the window pulley system replaced. The steering wheel is too recessed in the dash. Toyota made the car more "lux" but definitely skimped on the quality. It feels cheap!

This was my 19th Birthday present. Well its not bad livin in da urban area and drivin in tight spaces and tighttt corners. The S type is not bad to show off and the styling and its performance is really cool. And the Gas mileage is awesome. I been rought on it but it has handled it and so far no complaints.

If you want quality, reliability, safety, and economy, buy a Corolla. This car drives and feels more expensive than it is. The engine is so smooth. In the past, I shifted when it felt right, or when the engine sounded ready. I cant do that now, because it is too quiet and smooth. Two complaints: 1) The stereo sound quality is poor. 2)If I adjust the seat so that my legs are comfortable, I have to stretch my arms to reach the wheel. The seating position is too high, also. I am still very pleased with my purchase. And I know it will last forever.

This is my first car, the drive is so much fun, the gas usage is so economical, it barely makes me scream for joy, the suspensions for the sports edition are just perfect, the sound system is great, the air conditioner is great, the drive and brakes work just perfect.... I would recommend this car to anyone, anyday. Great car, great value for your money.

  • New corolla is Awesome - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I hated the looks of the 80 and 90s Toyota Corollas. There is even a song about a really ugly brown Toyota Corolla that makes fun of it. But I put my stereotypes away and test drove the 2004 model and fell in love. I drive alot with my job so it is important that I feel safe and comfrontable and get good mileage. Add these features to envrionmentally savy, reliable, and very sporty, it is a car well worth its price and I feel it compares well with vehicles that cost $20,000 more. I feel like this vehicle and I will be many miles together. Very awesome. Good Job Toyota!!!!

Overall this car is great for the money spent. The design of the S model, a bit sporty, but still fuel efficient for all practical purposes. I have taken my car cross country three times in the year that I purchased, and it has been a joy. Compact, reliable, great on fuel and the 5-speed is just fun to drive.
