Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • 0-60, who cares? - 2009 Toyota Corolla

We just bought this car to replace our minivan. We have two kids and realized that we dont need the that big of a vehicle and wanted to save gas instead. Who cares about 0-60 performance? Who buys a family sedan to drag race it? For us, the 1.8 liter performs perfectly fine around town and on long trips. The gas mileage is fantastic and, compared to our minivan, was worth the price of admission. So if you want a good, comfortable, reliable, safe, and economical car to haul your family around this car is the one for you. If you want a sports car then buy a sports car.

Ive had this car for about 24 hours, and have loved every minute driving it. The ride is smooth, the acceleration very good, and overall quality is second to none. Great gas mileage goes without saying. This is a perfect car for anyone wanting to save money on gas and overall maintanence costs.

  • Good all around car. - 1995 Toyota Corolla

Great car. Sad to see it go down the road. But my clutch has slipped away. Not the most comfortable car for a 6 foot male. My knee was always rubbing the middle radio area, or cup holder thing. I think they could have made it a tad bigger. Good gas mileage all in all. Had over 230,000 miles on it and still seemed to be good on gas. My back seat back rest seemed to come loose over time. Not sure what thats all about. You can still sit in it and its still safe, just couldnt figure out how to put it back on.

The best car Ive ever owned. How do they get 130hp from 1.8L? I had to take the premium sound, cruise and Winter Pkg. 100 watt stereo sounds great! Let NHSTA know about the visor hitting the rear view mirror, though. I did.

  • was good until after a year - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

i had the car for a year with 80,000 mile on it and everything was excellent for the first year. after the year past, my mpg just tanked on me and i was only getting 12 mpg. it got loud when i am driving on the highway, the rear speakers had static sounds. the brakes just sucked with the crappy ABS in it. then i got into my accident. the passenger seat belt didnt lock when my passenger side got hit, the airbag blew. then when they went back the seat belt lock. good car, but not good in accidents.

My Toyota Corolla is a reliable, fun to drive vehicle. It is easy to maneuver, holds to the road, gets good gas mileage, and maintenance has been minimum.

Great mileage, easy handling, dash components within easy reach, tire pressure monitors a pain on real cold days - likely with any car with TPM systems. Why they left out an MP3 connector is beyond comprehension - otherwise a perfect car. Good height, visibility, what you want in a larger vehicle but with the great fuel economy .
