Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

It is a great reliable car - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By karina rutova - October 26 - 8:50 pmI had it for six years and had only one problem with it. One of the the automatic window stopped working, but repair was unexpensive. The car in general is very reliable. While having it, I didnt care too much about gas prices going up because it is an economy car. I recommend this car.

Best valued car for me - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By SureJuJu - October 20 - 11:06 pmThings I wanted in my car: fuel economy, reliability, good price, enough seating room and trunk space for my two teenage daughters. My basic Corolla CE met all my requirements and more. Only additions are an after market alarm/keyless entry system for $260, an Obus Forme seat cushion (for my back), and a free front dashboard cover from my dealer. Everything is great with this car - very satisfied so far. BTW, I still dont understand why people are complaining about the "boring" exterior and interior styling. My Corolla looks like a solid car to me - none of those fancy, weird looking "fun to drive" features inside and out.

It is what it is - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Mark - October 20 - 5:36 amI have the stripped down VE model. Few bells or whistles. The interior is carefully laid out and only wish there was an arm rest. I agree with others that the 3 speed automatic is not the best choice, especially if you do a lot of hwy miles. Still, for reliable and basic transportation it shines.

I was very surprised!! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By dvd0060 - October 19 - 2:40 pmthe car arrive with a rear broken strut mount. After a little Drama in the beginning the car has been perfect! The engine is quite peppy and I average about 32 city/hwy. On my first drive home from the dealer I average 43.2 mpg on the highway. Once youre used to the electric steering its not a problem. I found the car to handle nicely(I enjoy the light feeling). I still zip on and on the highways and it never feels unstable.handling is quick and very accurate. The base 1.8 with auto has plenty of get up and go. Youd be surprised! No issues passing, the auto trans is smooth and responsive.Everybody stop trying to turn a corolla into a civic or mazda3. Ive had both. Love my Corolla!

Meets Expectations - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By inuchan - October 16 - 2:56 pmI bought this car 10 months ago and it still feels like a new car. Being a new car it is hard to say how reliable it is but it has not failed me yet. The gas is wonderful and lasts a long time though like any other car the A/C drains the gas very fast. I will say that this is not a sports car. DonÂ’t expect to go 0-60 in 2 seconds. It is mainly for looks not speed. I use it just to take me to work and really nothing more. I highly recommend this car if you want a low price car and great gas mileage. Just wish the A/C was stronger.

Rattle, Squeak, Rattle, Squeak - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Nate1981 - October 15 - 10:43 amWow, I have owned 3 Toyotas now and I cannot believe this one got past them. I bought this 03 Corolla in 05 with 40,000 miles on it. Only 5,000 miles after the sale the car began rattling in the dash. Then came the drivers door, and now the passenger door. This car rattles so bad it rivals my 1999 Oldsmobile that I traded in with 110,000 miles. Other than that the car is super great on gas. My best rating was 47 MPG on a trip to Wisconsin. I average 33 MPG city/highway (mostly highway). The car is super agile and can cut through traffic with ease. The brakes are very strong & the suspension is great! If only it had more power. Oh well, its great for an economy car!

great car! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Laura - October 9 - 1:10 amAfter doing lots of research and test driving, I decided on the Corolla, and its been amazing. I love the way it handles, the manual transmission shifts very smoothly, and other than routine maintenance Ive had no mechanical problems at all. The warranty is hard to beat, and fuel economy is fantastic--anywhere from 32- 40 mpg! Im short, so the size is perfect, but tall people might feel as if the drivers seat doesnt go back far enough.

Engine will out live the body - 1995 Toyota Corolla
By mathis30240 - October 8 - 10:00 amAlthough Im a truck guy, I cant kill this car. I needed a reliable car to get back and forth from work, and this is it. I got the car for $800 from a friend. It needed the LF Hub replaced (additional $100). Cars been great. Taught my son to drive stick in this car. It took a beating, but the car survived!
