Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Love it - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Julie - January 7 - 2:23 pmThe air broke the first week and I went ballistic but they fixed it, it was too much freon for goodness sake it was overcharging. Ive had a 00 corolla so I dont anticipate any more problems. These cars sell themselves in LA for reliability. Look for breakdowns on the freeway, youll see big models all makes, but seldom if ever will you see a Corolla and thats why I stick with it.

Great little workhorse! - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By Kelley King - January 5 - 9:15 pmI am on my 4th Corolla. My 99 was bought in 2009, and is still going strong at 240,000 miles. One of my lower ratings is because of all the plastic parts inside, but this is something I see with many cars, not just Toyotas. Ive had door handles snap off, as well as pieces of the moldings. Cupholders eventually snapped off too but I replaced. So Id like to see stronger parts, and if I had my way, no plastic at all....The most major repair I did was replacing the catalytic converter. The dealer wanted thousands to do this, but I found a local repair shop who did it for much less, back in 2010, and Ive had no problems since. Ive replaced brakes and struts, and of course buy new tires periodically. I do city driving so stop-and-go traffic, hence, the toll it takes on my brakes. Other things Ive replaced are things that simply give out with age. My main concern is the engine and transmission and those are rock solid. When my car is running, people often cant even hear that its running! Even at its old age, I get about 25 mpg. A couple of expensive repairs did occur. The power window stopped working on my driver side which entailed the purchase of a new motor for the door. Pricey. The other day, another door handle snapped off. Mechanic tried to put on new one, only to find the interior mechanism had to be replaced. Ive also done exhaust work but once done, no more problems. No issues with undercarriage like U-joints or anything like that. All my Corollas have gone over 200,000 miles and Im staying with this brand. Im buying my next one nearly-new and since I take excellent care of my cars, and am not rough at all with the interior, I dont expect issues with things ripping and breaking. I love these cars, and when 99s appear on used lots in my area, they are often scooped up within a few days, if the price is right and car is clean.

Thank you Shay Wilson - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Joshua Winters - January 5 - 4:26 pmMy wife and I were looking for a reliable car with excellent gas mileage. We found it. My wife drives about 30,000 miles a year for her job. This car is perfect. It has lots of room and the back seats fold down for our hiking equipment. We love the great gas mileage.

worst seats EVER!!!! - 2016 Toyota Corolla
By will hill - January 2 - 1:12 pmThis was just given to me as a company car. I drive about 85k miles a year. So when I first got in it looked really nice lots of cool new option nice layout. until I noticed only one power outlet I have search the whole car very weird in this day and age but not a deal breaker so far. After I started driving home from the office which is two hour drive i made it about an hour down the interstate and had to get out the seat was killing lower back my arms were also tired because the steering is not telescopic and you have to reach for it so the arm rest are only there for decoration. I am only 510" but I do believe this car is design for shorter people. Just to make it clear I am not here to beat on Toyota I travel allot and I drive all types of rental cars and this is by far the worst car I have ever driven Hopefully they can return this monday...

2009 Toyota Corolla - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By itsalladream321 - January 1 - 10:23 pmThis is a great car for those of you looking for fuel economy. After my Honda Civic was totaled, I got the Corolla. I wanted something similar to the Civic, but more affordable. So far I dont have any complaints. I just took a 1000 mile trip to Oregon and I average about 32 MPG. I think that is a pretty dang good average. It was comfortable and easy to drive the whole way. I loved it.

Beats the 2009 model! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Family Guy - December 31 - 8:40 pmI avoided the 2009 model partly because the clock was embedded in the multifunction display. That is now fixed! Even if it is a bit low. Otherwise, the car is comfortable and responsive. Interior is a little plasticky, though laid out well. Unlike others, I like the steering feel. Had a lot of rain this week, handling was fine and the wipers and defrosters worked fine. Before buying, I had rented the 2009 and the 2010, also test drove Fit and Civic and looked at Elantra. This was the best overall, partly thanks to price which included VSC.

Lovin my Corolla S - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Bea Ann - December 30 - 12:53 pmThis is my first Toyota purchase and judging from the way my Corolla drives and handles, it wont be my last. It has the get-up-and-go when I need it passing other cars and trucks. It also fits perfectly when Im just cruisin. Right now with gas prices more than $2 a gallon, you cant beat the 30/38 mpg. Im impressed with my Toyota and I have no complaints, only praise for it.

Best car I have ever owned - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Ksblk - December 30 - 2:00 amBest car I have ever owned. Has 234,000 miles on it and still running strong. Never needed any front end work, any engine or transmission work other than normal maintenance. Still has factory exhaust. At 234000 miles it still gets 32 mpg, never needs oil between changes. Has never let me down. Has only been back to the dealer for a timing belt change (preventative maintenance). No squeaks or rattles.
