Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I have been driving this wonderful car since past 1&1/2 years now and I want to say that this is such a fantastic, most reliable, durable and fun car to drive. Excellent quality of material thats used. Excellent and roomy interior, the best mileage and very powerful airconditioning.

  • Great Car! - 1997 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought my 1997 Corolla when I turned 16, as a first car. Ive put that car through a lot of abuse (rare oil changes, squealing tires, etc.) and Ive never had a bad problem with it. Its held up beautifully. I was even rear-ended by a brand new Cadillac, and the Cadillac was totaled, and my Corolla had a slight scratch on the rear bumper...it was amazing. While its not the most fancy car, its certainly the most reliable, well built, and all around practical car. I highly reccomend the Corolla, especially as a first car, because it holds up so well, and needs little to no matinence.

  • I loved my little Corolla! - 2000 Toyota Corolla

I had my little Corolla for almost 3 years. It was the first car I ever bought and I loved it. It was very reliable and got great mileage. There was a lot of space for such a small car. It handled pretty well and came with a lot of little conveniences which really helped. I drove that car everywhere and never worried about it. It wasnt fancy but it sure got the job done! I just traded it in last week for a Celica (which I am loving too!).

  • Good everyday Car! - 2001 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Fun to drive in a stick.. really zips around! Quick, reliable, good on gas .. Bumpy, noisy, small .. but youre not buying a Lexus. Its a little expensive for its size, but your paying for the Toyota name (and assumed quality). Its scary to think that for not alot more money, a Camery isnt to far away. Brakes have gotten progressivly more spongey as Ive driven it (28k as of now) .. Oh yeah .. I got rear ended twice (once pretty hard) .. zero damage except scrapes. If you change your own oil, the filter is hard to get at and messy to remove.

  • Great Looking Reliable Car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Solid car with great looks and performs flawlessly. I have a Camry and didnt need another large car for me to go to work in. This has a lot of bells and like them all. Drives great but dont really like the steering, maybe wider tires will help, you have to correct a lot while driving straight. Brakes work well but have more brake pedal travel than I like. Liked the car so well I decided to sell my S and ordered an XRS. No problems selling my 09 and getting a very good price for it. Just waiting on my XRS now.

  • GET YOUR MONEY BACK - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

THE 2004 TOYOTA COROLLA S IS A CHEAP CAR. MY BELT AND SOME OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE ALREADY HAVE HAD THEIR BELT SNAP IN HALF- VERY DANGEROUS... THE TOTAL DESIGN CAN EASILY BE DENTED AND SCRATCHED AND THE SMELL OF THE EGGS AND THE NOISE IS VERT ANNYOING. MY CAR IS ALREADY GETTING LEMON LAWED, AND TOYOTA PEOPLE ARE NOT FRIENDLY LIKE THEY USED TO BE, THEY TREAT YOU WITH NO RESPECT, AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR MONEY, NOR CAR....

  • Saving on gas big-time! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Lets talk about gas savings first. If you trade your current car that gets 25 mpg overall, and you drive the Corolla at 35 mpg @20,000 miles a year, you will save $700 per year (based on $3 a gallon gas). Multiply that amount by the number of years you plan to keep the car, and its hard to say no. Second, compare roominess of the 2003 or newer Corolla to any mid-size vehicle, and youll be pleasantly surprised at the amount of available space (including the roomy trunk)! Next, look at a consumer reports buying guide for reliability, safety, and resale value. Still not convinced to dump your gas hog? Take a Corolla for a test drive, and see for yourself, before gas prices spike again.

  • This is a great Car - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

My wife bought our corolla with fourteen thousand miles on it. It was about eighty eight thousand now and it has been great. It has ran great it is safe ( proof from being in a hit and run at 55 mph) And it has been the car that saves us money on gas I would recommend this car to any one.

  • Love the car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I seriously dont get the professional car reviewers. Personally I wouldnt want to drive one of the so-called fun cars in my everyday 140 mile commute. Obviously the Corolla is not intended for the MG crowd. In the 18 months I have had the car I have averaged 34-40 MPG, and that is not when I am babying it. That is driving full speed, hell-bent to get home at the end of the day. That alone has made the car worth it. Coming from a fully loaded 4Runner the steering was a bit weird at first, but easy to learn. Comfy ride, well built, great reliability, really great MPG. Hated having to go to dealer for scheduled maintenance first months. Parts now plenty, can go elsewhere.
