Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

2009 Toyota Corolla S - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By CTM - May 25 - 3:10 pmThe Corolla S is affordable, has great styling, an interior that doesnt rattle, an engine that will scoot- is quiet- and gets way over 30 mpg, and most importantly, is a "compact" car that has a respectable trunk. I am averaging 37 mpg so far with about 70% highway driving. The car will easily accelerate when you need to pass. The transmission is great, picks a gear and does not struggle up hills-- quick to comply with a downshift if you put your foot down. The trunk opening is HUGE, much larger than a Cobalt. Seats are comfy. AC blows cold. JBL stereo is incredible, I set ASL off, Bass +2 and Treble +4. Turn it to 45 and ROCK

Gas Relief! -- The Sequel - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By opie - May 20 - 6:36 pmAfter owning this car for 5.5 years and 105000 miles, I can proudly say that I have had absolutely no problems with this car! I have changed the serpentine belt, brakes and tires and that is it. It even has the original battery. Absolutely flawless reliability. I will never buy any other brand! And yes, I can still get 40+ miles per gallon on the highway. Thanks Toyota -- you made a believer out of me!

5th Toyota, going strong! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Carollin along - May 19 - 12:53 pmIve owned several Toyotas, Hondas, Mercedes, a Nissan, a BMW and numerous American made cars in 45 years of driving. This little Corolla S tops them all. It has the fit and finish of more expensive vehicles, the best gas mileage and I am betting on the reliability. It drives and idles smooth, is peppy when needed and most of all, a joy to drive.

2008 Corolla S- Black - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By silverspank - May 18 - 11:05 amPicked up the car from the dealership when purchased and the car was making a ear piercing noise coming from the wheels. Ended up being the brake shields rubbing the brake rotors. When the car was delivered on the transport, they strapped the chains too close to the shields bending them. The Toyota dealership took the car back and gave us a piece of crap loaner with no air or radio and was about 10 years old. My wife was very upset since we just traded in our fairly new LTZ Suburban. Once we got the car back and took it home, I checked the tire pressure since the tire sensor monitor was on. There was only 18 psi tire pressure in the tires. Of course I attribute all this to the dealer.

My kids first car... - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Craig - May 16 - 5:30 amI was out to get my little girl a car. I had looked at most everything thats is available in a cheaper new car. I was talking with the salesman about a Scion Xa, then he said, hey we are having a sale today on the Corolla CE. We test drove an automatic and werent impressed, the tranny at freeway speeds seems to rev high and always searching for a gear. Then we drove the 5 spd manual, what a difference. At highway speeds this car is great. Plus with a hwy rating of 41 mph. With about a 50 mile drive home, it was just enough time to fall in love with this car. It handles great, plenty of power, looks great in black. After the first 100 miles, still big smiles!

Buy One!! - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By sbj - May 16 - 1:16 amBought this corolla 1 yr. ago for a daily commuter. It has been an awesome car. I put 25,000 miles on it with no problems. It is comfortable and fun to drive. The car has 100k, and it drives like new, still very tight. I expect to be able to drive this to 300k.

08 Corolla S - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By Franklin - May 12 - 11:13 amNever had a Corolla before this but my husbands family has owned quite a few. I like the gas mileage and it drives smoother than the Honda Civic we test drove. I dislike the fact that the brakes make a loud "popping noise" when you take off and/or put it in reverse. Its loud enough that ppl in the back seat and on the street will make comments about why a 2008 car would sound like that. Have taken it to the dealership who says the brakes have "floating" parts on them & all 08s sound like that. Next visit in, I heard someone else complaining of the same thing. It didnt happen until the car got about 15,000 mi on it. Now its more frequent than ever. Other than that its fine.

Great car - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By scottp999 - May 10 - 9:50 amSo far, I love this car. I got tired of getting an avg 17 miles per gal in a 2003 4runner, so I traded it on this S corolla. In MD you pay 42 cents per gal in taxes. I just cut down the number of gal I consume by 50%. The car rides great, build is amazing. Interior and exterior design of the car is nice. There is a decent size trunk and I am 64" and there seems to be more headroom than the 4runner. I could not be happier.
