Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Love this car more the older it gets! - 1994 Toyota Corolla

I bought my Toyota Corolla DX brand new and have loved it since 1994. It keeps getting older, gets more miles on it, and just keeps humming along. It rides smoother than new Camrys, is peppy in the first and second gears and needs nothing but scheduled maintenance. Over the years the car has come to fit me like a glove and I dont want to replace it. I have 175,000 on this one and expect to take it well over 200,000. Like another reviewer I havent had a car payment in ten years. I love what Toyota does for me!

I bought this car after it had been wrecked. It was easy to have fixed and you cant tell it has ever been wrecked. It gets the same mileage as a new Corolla. It also has some get up and go when you want it to. The biggest problem I have noted is that the seat belts could be a little sturdier. I had to replace the drivers side as it did not work correctly. The people at my local dealership say this is a VERY common problem. Also, I hate were the cup holder is. However, I really love this car and do not regret buying it.

This is a great car. It is my first car, and after puting more then 7k miles on it in just 8 months, the only thing I have had to do are oil changes. It has 81k (almost 82k) miles right now, and I hope it goes at least twice that!

  • Satisfied So Far - 2009 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Bought this car in August 09, currently has 4500 miles. So far, so good. Has a very smooth, comfortable ride. The steering is a little odd, and takes some getting used to. Cant really get a feel for the road when driving, but is not a deal breaker. Definitely not a sporty driving experience. The controls are all well placed, and work well. The clock position doesnt really bother me. The trunk is adequate. The seats are very comfortable, and back seat space is surprisingly good. No brake or mechanical issues, or strange noises or rattles so far. Hoping to keep this car for 10+ years, so hope that continues. This car replaced my 15 year old Geo Prizm (basically the same as a Corolla).

We have it for about one month. So far we like it. As a family car it is great. The thing I like most is, the Adaptive cruise control and line departure alert. Also LED lights great when driving in dark

  • Buy this car! - 2004 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I just bought this car 3 days ago. The steering is tight. Visibility is really good. A lot comes standard with even the ce: ac, power door locks, cd player, cup holders... I was looking at echos and found I could get a corolla for basically the same price once i added everything that doesnt come standard with the echo. Really fun to drive. Handles well in rainy windy weather. Very spacious.

  • Very solid automobile - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Ive had the car for about 4 months now and Im not disappointed. It looks sharp, is quiet, and smooth. The car has handled any quick turns Ive ever taken and once you get into the middle gears it can, if pushed, take off. At 75-80 mph, it rides at amount 3000-3200 rpm (not significantly higher than an Avalon Ive driven) and Ive gotten about 38 MPG on long freeway drives. My city driving only gets about 25 MPG, but thats probably because I drive very short distances and usually let it warm up for a few minutes before I get going. I bet itd be closer to 30 if my city driving was a more typical commute. The interior feels solid and the doors shut and seal nicely.

  • Great Value - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Overall, I have been happy with my Corolla. The gas mileage is just fantastic. I have had a few minor quality problems such as the seal around the doors coming loose. It handles well in the snow, but it is a little shaky in windy conditions.
