Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

I had a Mustang before my Corolla and always felt so unsafe driving it. With my Corolla, I feel SO safe. It is an excellent car and I hope to keep it for as long as it will run for.

  • 2014 Corolla S Plus - New Transmission at 30k Miles - 2014 Toyota Corolla

I drive about 30k mi a year. Was buying my first new car & needed a safe & reliable vehicle for my 70 mile commute plus driving obscene distances working as a Child Protective Services Worker. I got the S Plus with nav, smart key & sunroof. Car started rattling 1 month in. Couldnt replicate noise so no fix. Nav screen starts zooming out on its own...something got stuck between screen & frame. Bent a rim. Tire & Rim Warranty wont replace. Brought car in for 30k mile service & because I was hearing a whining noise...Toyota replaces entire transmission! Extremely alarming. The car drives fine. Does what I need it to do and more. Currently at 34k miles & plan to drive it into the ground.

  • Excellent car! - 2001 Toyota Corolla

I had this car almost 3 yrs and loved it! I would have kept it for many more years if someone didnt carelessy run a stop sign and total my car. Considering she hit us really hard on the front side, and she had a SUV, I think the fact that we are not seriously injured shows how safe a car this is. I never had any problems with this car. Its very comfortable, fun car. I definatly recommend it! I just wish the new ones looked like this inside and I would get another one.

Terrific for scooting around town. This is my first Toyota & Im very impressed. Exterior is sharp. Interior is clean and functional. No wind noise from sunroof. Civic is state of the art in compacts. Maint. schedule basically change oil & rotate tires every 5k miles, simple and low cost.

  • Great car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Fantastic car. Much better looking design compared to older models. Not fast or anything, but I live in the city and gas is expensive so it really doesnt matter. One of the best looking/feeling "budget" cars I ever been in. I have the S version and it black w/ black interior. Most people I meet think its a Lexus.

  • Poor handling and mpg - 2015 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I rented this car and I am so surprised that so many people actually bought this car. I dont encourage speeding but, if you had to get out of a line or had to get somewhere sooner I would not recommend doing it in this car. Steering response is weak and miles per gallon is not good at all for this car. There are several cars in its class with better gas mileage. Acceleration is almost non existing and makes gas feel like water. Expected more from a 2015 sport model, I cant imagine what the base models feel like. You will find the same reliability elsewhere.

  • ?fuel economy - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I really enjoy this car. Its easy to drive and has a good pep to it. On the highway it handles well at higher speeds and was quieter then I expected. When it comes to city driving it easy to park and handles well. I question the fuel economy when driving in the city I avg. about 23 mpg which is far below the 30mpg other people have claimed and even below the 25mpg the stickers actual. Ive only put 2000 miles on the car and wonder if others experienced the same. Other then that i would recommend this car.
