Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

2006 Corolla S - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Kathie - August 6 - 2:43 amIve owned the car for a year and have really enjoyed driving it. On a long highway trip, I did reach 40 mpg. Around town I usually average 30-32 with a lot of starts and stops. I love the look of it - the paint color really shines. Performance is great. Havent had to do any maintenance other than oil changes, no repairs either. Trunk size is very large. Seating very comfortable. Love the sun roof!

Compact car with lots of style - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Nicky - August 4 - 6:00 pmI built my car online and it looked 100 times better in person. ItÂ’s a bit more spacious and a lot more stylish. The car is a decent ride. IÂ’m a little biased because I previously owned a Camry so IÂ’m not yet used to the Corolla getting whipped around in gusts of wind. The touch screen navigation is a great option for the compact car. I was concerned with the quality of the sound since the JBL speakers and navigation are not a combined option with the XLE. The speakers surpassed my expectation by far. There are no buttons to change the radio; everything is touch screen which can pose as a problem while driving. Gas mileage is never as advertised but nevertheless very efficient.

Slick commuter - 2015 Toyota Corolla
By Eddie Peoples - August 4 - 7:08 amI commute 42 miles to work with a mix of traffic , interstate, four lane w/stop lights and two lane roads . Many people shy away from manual transmission , thats what makes this car come to life! I do a lot of driving in the NC mountains for my job, and this car responds beautifully. I got the most basic model possible as they shared most of the same features the more expensive models do engine/transmission. This car zips up and around curvy mountains with relative ease. The handling is very good . The brakes could be a little better. The quality of materials used in the car could be better . My bumper was tapped by another car, as we were both backing up at a VERY slow speed ( it was like slow motion ).Put a nice size softball size dent in my bumper and caused the trunk to separate from the bumper . No estimate yet to be done in the next week. I enjoy driving my car , lots of fun with the manual transmission

Love this XLE - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By rev4 - August 3 - 7:40 pmThis XLE is just a great car. Quality. Ride. Fuel Mileage. Comfort. Style. I bought this not for a "drivers car"...but for comfort, quality, ride, style... and it excels in all categories. I highly recommend this car for someone looking for all the above qualities. It is a "compact Camry"...btw...My other car is a 2002 Camry XLE...

Just OK Car - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Jonathan T - August 1 - 5:13 pmHaving driven and owned almost all Toyota models, I can definitely say this compact car is just OK. The exterior looks great but the interior lacks the quality Ive had with my previous Toyotas, cheap plastics. The small multi-information display is not helpful at all being placed awkwardly in the dashboard. The Electronic Steering is kind of a little stiff and the car sometime drifts in strong winds but got used to it after 1K miles. Runs smooth & very quiet, you just have to downshift if you want to outrun other cars in the Hway. Got a lot of compliments from other people but overall, Im happy with my purchase considering the economy. Will keep this car for a long time and will enjoy it!

Corolla XRS - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By J. Kinsley - July 31 - 2:20 pmThank you Toyota for a poor persons porsche. This is a great car... takes corners at interesting speeds with no sway and keeps the revs up between shifts due to the close ratio gears. Yes, it is fun fun fun to drive. But, is well behaved, and uses much less gas, at low revs and higher gears.Yes, it is practical as well. (If you choose.) For a 1.8 liter engine, the engineers have managed to elicit a spunky engine with some surprises at the higher revs. At 6000 RPM do not be close to the car ahead of you.

Great gas mileage??? - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Insac - July 31 - 2:00 amI shoulda kept my 1999 solara. V-6, silky smooth, quiet, comfortable. I got 25-28 mpg! This new corolla I have has gotten 29 mpg these first 4 tanks! (all highway miles...no traffic) I shoulda gone for the plush comfort rather than thinking Id save gas!

This car is an asset - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By upoys - July 29 - 9:53 pmBuying a brand new car is a liability. But when the car runs as well as the day you bought it years after the last car payment, and has many strong miles ahead, that car is now an asset. The gas mileage is decent, although not as good as I think this car should get. It is not the smoothest ride either. But to prove the quality of build and reliablity of this vehicle, the original tires were not replaced until they had a little over 80k mi. Plus, only standard maintainence has been done to it.

Whoo! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Joey - July 28 - 2:56 pmGood reliable car with great gas mileage but driving this car needs to be more comfortable. Driving in the driver seat is not to comfortable. Gas, brake, and clutch pedals are to close together. Sometimes step on 2 pedals at once. But overall happy with this car. Dont have to put gas in this car all the time like the Mustang I had before. Nice & quiet ride and good power on the freeway. Able to pass lots of cars.
