Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Very poor road feel. The EPS needs to be tuned for better handling characteristics.

Bought the car used two years ago and beside regular maintenance, I have had a pleasurable experience. It is a nice looking car which has kept its value over the years.

I just got this car and I absoultely love it! It is so cute and so fun to drive! I did have a 2001 Alero which was a lemon. I am much more relieved to be in a Toyota. These babies run forever. I get so many compliments and am so glad that I chose this car!

  • Not worth the trouble - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Less than a year and 9000 km after I purchased my 2006 Corolla, my steering pump is broken and it is undriveable. The dealership says the part wont arrive for another month. Its Toyotas policy not to provide a rental car or any transportation for that matter until after 10 days that the part is on backorder. I am stuck without a car for 10 days. There was also another 06 Corolla in for the same problem. I was happy with my 1994 Corolla and not happy with my 2006. Toyota made no effort to salvage our relationship. Saturn and GM both say they provide transportation the same day if they expect a part not to arrive for a month.

  • Toyota Corolla surprises with exceptional value - 2009 Toyota Corolla

I researched before I bought the Corolla - I needed good gas mileage, enough room for the grandkids, and a comfortable ride. The Corolla has surprised me with its comfort, 27 mpg mixed hiway/street, and how well it has retained its good looks. The car is clean and functional with everything I need to comfortably get from A to Z. My only disappointment is that the car doesnt have Bluetooth or USB ports. It does have an auxiliary port that connects to the radio, so I am able to listen to books, music, news - whatever. I would highly recommend the Corolla as a sharp little vehicle with good response on the road.

We bought this car in January so we could have a nice little economy car to drive around. I had a lot of driving to do over the summer and our other vehicle is a Dodge Ram Quad Cab. It is one of my most favorite cars I have ever driven. It has surprised me more than once with its handling and efficiency. A great car if you do a lot of driving and spend many hours in your car. I like the manual shift, I get greater control and that is something this car in an automatic model would not produce on its own. The standard shift also gives me more MPG on the highway and in the city. I average about 38 mpg to 42 mpg on the highway. It has 15000 miles on it now, so as you can see, I love it.

  • Great Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla

Bought the car in June 2004. After researching and test driving many cars in its class I choose the toyota. Ive had the car for several months now and I love it. Ive had NO problems at all, gas mileage has been 38 highway (with air conditioning on) and 30 in the city (also with air on). Its very comfortable, has plenty of head room and a HUGE trunk for its size. The car has enough power for acceleration onto interstates, although its obvious its not a sports car...but then again its not suppose to be. The ride is very smooth with only a little engine noise. The best part about the car is that...its a Toyota so it will last a long time!

This is my second Corolla and it is proving to be just as reliable as the last one. Drove my last one for 11 years and had zero problems with it. The 05 Corolla is just as reliable. Its comfortable to drive, handles well in all types of weather and looks good. A very good value for the dollar.
