Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Good To Go - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I recently bought my car in march 05. I have had several cars throughout the years even a new kia. I feel this car is a steal for the money. By the time the loan is over your car will still be worth plenty. For once I have made a good choice in cars. No regrets. I do not think it was one bit over priced. Not for what you will get out of it in return.

  • Corolla XRS - 2005 Toyota Corolla

I had the car for 3000 miles now and over all its been a great car. The other car I was considering other than the XRS was the Nissan Sentra SE-R Vspec. I have to admit the Sentra was more performance oriented but I checked out the cars reliability within the past few years and Im not that impressed with it. Also I dont like the interior with the Sentra too so pretty much I ended up choosing the Corolla XRS.

  • Toyota builds the best economical car!! - 2004 Toyota Corolla

I have never had anything go wrong with this car or my 1989 Corolla except with a flat tire. The seats are comfortable and its has a nice smooth ride and bumps in the road are nothing. It handles turns and its braking is exceptional.

  • It Just Wont Die - 2000 Toyota Corolla

Weve used this car as a daily commuter and grocery getter for over seven years and it still hangs tough. The check engine light stays on for no reason that the mechanic can find, but it still runs well. One day well move up to something more modern, but for basic, economical transportation it will still be running around town when todays Dodge Calibers and Nissan Versas are toast. Those who survive the apocalypse will be driving Corollas.

  • Disappointed - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Ive had the car for a few weeks. However, very disappointed in the windsheild wipers. If I would have known this, I wouldnt have purchased the car. The left hand wiper shimmers at the bottom; brought it back and was told they cant fix it. Another major issue is that the right hand wiper makes a line smack in the middle of the drivers viewing. I just got back from driving in the rain and it was dangerous. The line distorts viewing. Id say this is a design flaw in the placement of the wipers and the wipers themselves; buyers beware!

  • Good entry level model - 2010 Toyota Corolla

I drive 500-600 miles a week and the gas mileage has been outstanding (37- 40 mpg highway) as long as a speed of 65-70 is maintained during highway driving. This saves about $10 a week in gas cost. Quieter and smoother ride versus a comparable Civic. Previously owned a 2004 Camry LE and the cabin noise is even less! Have seen numerous reviews (mostly with the S trim) citing rattles and other noises, but have yet to see any of these issues. Acceleration is a bit sluggish from a start, but what can you expect from a 1.8L engine. Overall a good commuter car.

  • Good car so far - 2010 Toyota Corolla

Believe it or not, traded a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT for a 2010 Corolla S with 5 speed stick. Added up cost of ownership for the next 5 years and it was a no brainer. Im actually enjoying the corolla more than the g8 because of the manual transmission. Getting 31 mpg with city/hwy combined. Seems like a lot of road noise, but I suspect crappy Goodyear tires are a big part of that. Steering does feel a little weird at hwy speeds, but doesnt really seem too bad. Car handles a lot better than an Acura v6 tsx I drove, it had tires squealing around every turn. For the price, design and quality of materials is fine. Shifter is pretty smooth and clutch action is light and easy.

  • Very good get to work car. - 2016 Toyota Corolla

I am leasing this Corolla and I have been quite pleased with almost everything about it so far. It is super reliable! 20,000 miles and nothing put into it but two oil changes, tire rotations, and new wiper blade inserts. The cars acceleration for a 1.8L is what you would expect. I find you get the best pull between 3,000-5,000 RPM. The seats and comfort of the interior is what I would call, standard, for a vehicle in this price range. The trunk space is superb! The one thing I dont like about this car is the transmission. Nothing is mechanically flawed with it that I have noticed; but the rubber band effect is very much present in this CVT. In normal driving mode the CVT has a rough feel in stop and start traffic. It smooths out at cursing speeds and does provide me with 39.7 MPG, so it has that. If you keep the car in sport mode the transmission responds much better in all conditions but cuts about 9 MPG off your fuel economy.

  • 3800 miles in 6 weeks - 2003 Toyota Corolla

It was hard to find what we wanted in options. When we finally did it was like the gods were smiling on us because it was in a beatiful blue metalic color. Almost 40 miles to the gallon (no joke), great stereo, "french fry holder" to the left of the steering wheel, Very responsive cruise control. It is so quiet when running that I have tried to start it at red lights thinking the engine had stalled. I will never buy another american made car! I have had new cars by all three Big name makers and none of them compare to this Corrola.

  • Proud to Own, but... - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

While I am proud to this car, I find that it lacks a few horses. Overall, it is responsive throughout the band but youre pushing the limits close when needing umph to pass. Seats are comfy and ergonomics are good other than the stereo being a bit out of reach. Handles well for a front wheel drive vehicle but not a tight turning radius though. Great fuel efficiency-perfect for todays market. Needs some rims and a shark fin antenna to be completely stylish. Only one weird anomaly- the throttle stuck on me ~4500 rpm once. Really scary and dealership mechanics cant identify the problem. What can I say though Toyotas done well with this car. I am pleased!
