Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

My favorite aspect of the Corolla is that I sense a total quality throughout the car. Its peppy and reliable as a watch and no wind noise, interior is not cheap looking, I call it my little Lexus. People laugh at the comparison but for $14K new, and fantastic resale value, it is great.

I have 165000 and the only problem I had was the ac relay went out at 75000 ($200 at the dealer ). Everything on the car still works. I would not hesitate to purchase a Corolla..... FYI 5 spd

  • Corolla, the no-headache car - 1998 Toyota Corolla

Buy a Corolla and just do scheduled oil- changes, and the usual maintenance. It is truly a no-problem vehicle.Drives beautifully and is extremely reliable.

  • Solid car, but not much fun to drive - 2017 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Pros: Superb headlights with every even and bright illumination; tight fit and finish, very solid construction; low operating cost. Cons: If you want to know what it feels like driving a coffin this is it! Very dark claustrophobic interior, poor outward visibility; noisy at speed; poor straight line stability; persistent and irritating understeer. Boring exterior design. Some very hard and sharp plastic in the wrong spots that really will hurt you.

  • 2009 Toyota Corolla is a Good Value - 2009 Toyota Corolla

This is my 5th Corolla. It does not disappoint. I average about 34 mpg. The controls are very easy to operate and make this a very convenient vehicle. The design of this car is very attractive. I have received many compliments. In a world where gas prices are peaking out into outer space, the Corolla is a very good buy.

  • Not what I expected - 2005 Toyota Corolla

This car is way overrated. The ride is noisy and the alignment do not last. The design of the front windshield design blocks the view when turning. Blind spots are bigger. Just recently had to replace the ECU (computer). The tensioner pulley is making noise. Will be replaced next time it goes in for service. Foot place on left broke off. I will replace it soon before warranty expires. One of the worst vehicles I bought.

  • Love my 1994 Corolla! - 1994 Toyota Corolla

This was the first (and maybe only) car I ever bought brand new off of the car lot. So far I have logged over 111,000 miles, and its still going strong. Lord willing I will get another 100,000 miles on it. Replaced the timing belt 50,000 miles ago, and also recently replaced the starter and alternator. Didnt need new brakes until almost 100,000 miles. Other than a couple of batteries, multiple tires, and a CV boot and muffler, Ive not had any real issues/replacements, etc. This car still looks good and runs great and I would recommend it to anyone who is more concerned with safety and reliability than whether or not they are driving the latest and greatest sporty vehicle.

  • So sick of the engine light coming on. - 2008 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I am seriously thinking about trading this in for a Honda or VW. It gets good fuel economy but the ride is a bit rough and noisy. It turns well around corners. When driving at night low speed the lights dim at times with the engine. Seats are not to comfortable. There are plenty of drink holders and cubbys though. Maybe a flat enclosed nonslip area on top the middle console lid for a tray would be great. I am so sick of my engine light coming on though first time was the darn gas cap now its on again its driving me crazy I want another car! Tire lights a nice as it lets you know when they are low it would be nice to let me know which one though.

  • Superb Value + Style - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Outperforms every car in its class. I selected the 5-speed manual transmission, and am very pleased with the cars responsiveness and the engines zip. The exterior and interior design border on luxurious...not bad, for under 15k. Truly a wonderful car for its price range.
