Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Cramped design - 2001 Toyota Corolla

This was my second Toyota. My first was a Tercel and lasted me twelve years. Ive had this one for two months and I gave up and traded up to the 2003 model. The front was cramped and difficult to get into. I am only 5 7 1/2" but I found that the seat would not go back far enough so that I could use the pedals without turning my feet in uncomfortable ways. In addition the suspension was very flimsy. It would bottom out on simple bumps. Otherwise it was a Toyota. It handled well and was well made.

  • Safety outweighs fun! - 1997 Toyota Corolla

Its 2010 and I got this car over a year ago, has 70,000 miles. No problems! Looks old, and Im 62" so its hard to fit in it. The A/C also poor. This is a point A to point B car.

Reminds me of my 68 VW beetle. Nimble, easy to whip around in, easy to park. Has neat auto stuff like head lites, door looks when put in dr mode, int lite fades, keyless features. One major issue that others mentioned--the steering. It wanders, requiring constant mini corrections. The svc dept of the store advised me of a tech. Svc bulletin. A new elect module had to be replaced. Corrected the problem. Why was I not notified in advance this was a known problem? The cars appearance in my opinion better than the competition. I agree w/others on the seat material being cheap and a lint problem. Ditto with the clock location. One

  • We Expected Much Better - 2007 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Our 2007 Corolla LE AT was our fifth new Toyota purchase since 1989, and it will be our last. The quality of design and build, ride and fuel economy of this vehicle are very poor. The AC compressor didnt work from the start due to a small projectile impact that damaged the fins; the thing is placed low, in front and has more than a foot of open air space between it and the road. $1,200 to replace it. The road noise, stiff ride, and engine vibration is off the chart awful, but what worries me is the loud ticking when the engine is cold. It sounds like the valves/lifters are starved for oil, or what Toyota service people call "normal."

I love this car. Jerome(the car) has been the most reliable, gas efficient, fun to drive car I have ever driven.

  • Oligohome - 2006 Toyota Corolla

this is my 3rd 5-speed Corolla. I wanted a car that was as close to my previous 2000 Corolla as possible. I find the suspension is very ridgid. I feel every bump on the road. Drives well in the snow. I appreciate the added ground clearance. Turns great. Average fuel at 32 (local)-35 (HWY) MPG, not the number advertised (although my previous Corolla was right on the money to the predicted numbers, so it aint my driving).

  • six speed - 2005 Toyota Corolla
