Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

97 Corolla CE Great - 1997 Toyota Corolla
By flatoyce - March 27 - 7:06 amStarts and runs great and smooth every time. General maintenance only: oil changes, transmission fluid, anti freeze, new battery, etc. Would definitely buy again but think this car will run forever.

Small and Cute - 1999 Toyota Corolla
By Amorphis - March 25 - 10:00 amIts been good to me despite the abuse. Its small but comfortable, and cheap for a Toyota, I trust it will last for a long time. I had a 90 corolla before and it was a good car also, thats why I decided to stick with corollas.

Who says this car isnt nice looking! - 2001 Toyota Corolla
By shecky - March 25 - 10:00 amAnyone who thinks this car isnt nice looking is fooling themselves. It is very respectable and not over the top like some other cars (cough cough, 2003 corolla). The automatic is a bit slow but the interior and exterior are amazing.

Random Fire in the Cylinders - 2001 Toyota Corolla
By terriblydisappointed - March 25 - 10:00 amI am disappointed with my Corolla. The engine light has come on 3 times with an error code of P30 (random misfiring in the cylinders). I have had it serviced 2 times and they have turned off the light..sluffing it off as nothing. Now the engine light has come on for a third time and it runs really rough. Not only has my Toyota Corolla CE failed my expectations for reliability..it has failed my expectations for servicing.

Nice looks, bad personality. - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By tlbkcal - March 25 - 10:00 amI saw the new Corolla and immediately fell in love with the new exterior. It looks like and looks even better than a Jetta. However, I test drove it, and thats where the loving ended and the fear began. The car has no handles and when I drove over a bridge with grooves, the car started to shake and waddle. I had to hold on to the steering wheel real tight to keep it in control. Also, the suspensions are horrible, the ride was extremely bumpy. I drove over the exact same road while test driving a Camry and felt nothing. But if youre more into looks, go with the Corolla, otherwise, its just an overrate hot selling car.

Slight step backwards in quality - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Marcalan - March 25 - 10:00 amThis is my second Corolla (first was a 1996 DX). In some respects, the 2003 LE lacks the quality of the 1996 model. The car is too high off the ground and seating position is too high as well. Turning corners aggresively feels insecure. Car tends to track gooves in the road. Some of the knobs and switches are cheap and flimsy (especially trunk and fuel filler cap release). Cheap looking, fake wood trim and chrome accents.

2005 Toyota Corolla CE - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By joe - March 25 - 2:23 amThe car is too small to find a comfortable position. Made for very small people, the power is... there isnt any. The seals leak on the window. Very noisy ride. AC cant really keep the car cool enough inside. The sound system is poor quality. Low and hard seats leave a person hurting after a trip around town. Visibility is very poor to the rear of drivers side. Low clearance under car makes a small road hazard a very big problem. Cheap paint, chips easy. Handling on icy roads very good, but low clearance is again a big problem.

Very Upset - 2011 Toyota Corolla
By jsnsgrl98 - March 23 - 12:11 pmI purchased the 2011 Corolla S with all the bells and whistles in March of 2011. I was satisfied with the car and was excited to have gotten my very first brand new car. Last week we discovered that there was oil all over the back of the motor. The seal on the cam plate had blown out. My husband, being very smart with cars, was very upset to find that instead of a gasket it was silicone. So either it was put together wrong, or it had already been taken apart before we got it. The dealership told us to brign it up to be fixed, so when I got there I traded it in on a new Jeep. Was not going to pay for a thrown together car. Plus I also realized I was not a car person and wanted another SUV.

Daytime Dashboard Lights - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Puzzled - March 22 - 5:10 pmI had a Toyota Corolla LE 2007 and a Honda Civic LX 2010 which had dashboards that lit up as soon as the car started and remained until the car was turned off. I bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE two weeks ago only to find that the dashboard lights are controlled by a sensor that begins when the car is started in a darkened garage but fade as soon as the car is in daylight. Even when the car goes through a tunnel or overpass, the lights dont go on. All the mechanics tell me this is the way its made to work. To me, not having dashboard lights is a safety issue, and it should be rectified by Toyota. The salesman suggested that I cover the sensor. Why? Its supposed to work automatically.

Great Value - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By benbo - March 22 - 10:00 amOutstanding car make and model year. Never had a problem, possibly over maintained it, but nothing ever broke in the 9 years we owned it!
