Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Wish is car was better - 2003 Toyota Corolla

The car is good looking. The visibility is a little on the poor side, we remover the rear head rest to inprove the vision out the rear window. The ride is not the best, it is rough and one feels every bump. If I had tested the ride a bit more, I would not have purchased the car. It rides like an old truck. There are also blind spots looking towards the passenger side. A driver must be extra careful. I reduced the tire pressure down from 30psi to 28 to try to help the ride. Not much gained.

  • 3 recalls and counting - 2009 Toyota Corolla

My car has had 3 recalls and a TSB. In the 14 months Ive had the car, it has been in the shop 6 times. The steering still isnt great after the TSB. Toyota has assigned me a different first name from day one, and after many phone calls and faxes, I still cant get it corrected. Calling TOYOTA headquarters in Torrance, CA. IS A BIG WASTE OF TIME. I only drive this car around town and would be too scared to take it on a road trip. I owned a Subaru before my Corolla and drove it for 19 years. I would get rid of my Corolla tomorrow if I could afford to.

  • Best car ever - 2013 Toyota Corolla

Well I must say its my first new car purchase. I wanted a Honda but couldnt afford one that I like so I looked at this car and fell in love. The radio is awesome and I can ride comfortably. (Im 62") I love the interior and its so smooth. Very quiet ride and gets me so far on a tank. I average 30 mpg in city driving. I used to own a 1997 4runner that got only 19!!

  • A "haywagon" ride - 2003 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Exceptional reliability. A joy to drive, with distance gas milage in the low 30s m/g. This model gives a very bumpy ride, as if the tires were grossly over- inflated. With 15" wheels, it is a ppor ride. The tires (Firestone) this model came with were "ride-ranked" the lowest of 32 others that would fit the wheel (by tirerack)

  • Conservative style, but still a beautiful car inside/out - 2011 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw redesigned 2011 Toyota Corolla S. You might think that it looks like 2009-2010 Corolla, but with small cosmetic and mechanical changes they did on 2011 model, the car looks very refined. Interior is simple and elegant, with comfortable seats. Also, Blue-tooth radio works very well. Driving 70/30 city/highway gives me 30-32MPG with A/C running all the time. Overall, this a great ride!

I have always owned American made cars my whole life. I bought my Corolla almost 10 months ago, and I still love to drive it. I drive almost 100 miles a day and the car is so comfortable and handles great. I will never buy another American car again.

  • "The Peoples Car" of the 90s - 1996 Toyota Corolla

This has been a wonderful car to own & maintain; my wife bought it new when she was in college, and I got it after we married. Its "the little import that could"; I have over 160K mi. on it, have used it in ways the designers never intended (truck, off-road vehicle, long-range transport), and it *just keeps running*. I am able to squeeze 36 MPG combined with thrifty road habits. The body has its scars from the parking lot and highway rubble, but I dont abuse the drivetrain or suspension, and give fluids as recommended. I love this little guy; hes a loyal, modest and well-mannered steed. I will likely drive this car until it is killed in a wreck/earthquake (CA resident, of course).

  • This car saved my life! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I was in a crash fast enough to set the airbags off. The car looked horrible, but I walked away with only a twisted ankle. In a frontal crash, this is definitely a class leader in the used car market. And before I crashed it, it was a decent little car. It had plenty of power, and the transmission was geared perfectly. The outside was a little bland, but that didnt really matter. The interior was not cramped, but cozy. Im about 53" and the seat was at the perfect height for good visibility. The backseat was also rather large for a car its size, accommodating two small adults comfortably.

  • Great car for the money - 2003 Toyota Corolla

This car kicks butt for the money. Its pretty looking and inexpensive to both buy and to maintain. Forget about honda civic

  • Road noise and head restraints block view - 2010 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I think the road noise from the tires humming along is too loud. I think you can hear the traffic just as loud whether the windows are down or up. I am still getting used to the head restraints that appear in the way of my view when I try to turn around to see what is behind me when backing out. Per the monitor I get 31 MPGs! The car has enough pickup and go for my wife and I. We paid under $16K out the door. back up.
