Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Best bang for your buck - 1996 Toyota Corolla
By Billy Golden - August 31 - 6:17 pmBought this car about half a year ago with 178k miles for $1,550. May have overpaid slightly, but the car was maintained very well. Some say the clutch is on its way out, considering it is still the ORIGINAL, but I believe it shifts great still. Now has 186k with original clutch. Frequent oil changes, tires replaced, other than that, havent had to put a dollar into the car. Besides an air filter. 15 bucks. I use this car to deliver pizzas. Bumpy dirt roads are frequent. The suspension is fantastic. Driving 80+ MPH feels like youre going 50. No drifting left or right, drives straight as an arrow. Fantastic get up for a little 1.8l engine. Cant suggest this car enough to you. If you find one with the 5 speed 1.8l, dont sleep on it. The gas mileage is awesome, reliability is even better. Hope to get it to 250 on the original clutch, but well see how that goes. ;)

Just what I needed - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By JungleLove - August 31 - 5:03 amI love driving this car. Driving any vehicle is a privilege not a right, and driving the 09 corolla seems like an amazing privilege to me. Not the speediest car, but thats not what Im looking for. I drive down and up a canyon five days a week and my avg. mileage is 37.5 to the gallon. Automatic lights, auxiliary plug for my iPod, volume and station controls on the steering wheel, room for a massage table in the trunk. Perfection. Sweet.

Spoiled in my Sport - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By jkil - August 31 - 2:00 amI previously owned a 1991 Honda Civic DX. I thought I would be a loyal Honda owner. Boy, was I wrong! I test drove the Honda Civic, Accord and CRV. There was no comparison to the 2003 Toyota Corolla Sport! It is supposed to be modeled after the Camry. It has a lot of "fun features" for a lower price. As the sales associate said, "More bang for the buck".

Looove It! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Miss Brown - August 31 - 2:00 amI traded in my 1999 Solara for the Corolla S and this is the cutest car Ive ever owned. It has terrific gas mileage (I commute 80 miles a day) and the body is so sporty. I see other people driving it and I think, "Gosh thats a cute car" and its mine! I get so many comlements on it; it is definitly a head turner. Just so that Id feel better about the downgrade, I got leather seats and it looks sharp!

90% As Good as my Lexus! - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Wabash2001 - August 30 - 4:30 amAfter driving a Scion xD (and not liking it at ALL), I test drove a Corolla "S." Night and day difference! My other car is a 2008 Lexus IS 250 with lots of options, and this Corolla is 90% as good. Its quiet. It gets great gas mileage. The list of features is impressive. Theres plenty of room and while a bit on the bland side, its peppy and predictable. Other, similar econo-cars either skimp on the features or cost several thousand more. The Corolla does what it should, and I dont regret the purchase at all! Sure, there are room for improvements--but at this price its hard to consider the car a compromise.

Most Reliable Car Ever Made - 1994 Toyota Corolla
By seandicks - August 27 - 5:40 pmI purchased my Corolla BOCH in May 2008 because my Escort died on me. As far as I can see the Corolla was the best all around car ever made. Ive put about 4000 miles on it and all Ive had to do was put an O2 sensor on. I painted the drums and calipers, put a cold air intake on it, tinted the windows, nice system and alloy wheels. Ive only owned 2 cars but this one blows the escort out of the water. It looks really modern for its time and has not failed me yet. There is 144000 miles on it now and Im hoping to get upwards of 200,000. I know that it will surpass my expectations for it is known for its reliability. Im getting a (1995) Maxima soon so well see how it compares.

Not As Dependable As Is Widely Believed - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By dethark - August 27 - 10:34 amPurchased my Corolla in March 2002. At this time (June 2011) there are 49800 miles on it. Here is every problem Ive ever had with it over 9 years in chronological order: - steering wheel was slightly out of alignment, tilting to the left a bit; Toyota straightened it under warranty - AC cut out while I took a 600 mile road trip; only happened once, didnt need to fix it - squealing started off and on from the engine/belt; had belt replaced but squealing continued; sources online say its a belt tensioner problem; happens inconsistently; havent fixed it yet - crackling distortion began from rear speakers - rear wheel bearings needed replacing, $1260 for parts + labor

Corolla LE plus Power Windows dont work in cold weather - 2013 Toyota Corolla
By elliot732 - August 19 - 6:17 amI have had the 2014 Corolla LE plus for less than two weeks. During that time, anytime the temperature drops below 20 degrees F, the front windows wont come down (open) I took it in for service, but everyone in the dealership I spoke with swore up and down that the same happens in cold weather to their front windows, too. I lodged a complaint with Toyota corporate, but they say they cant do anything about it now.
