Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

Great car. A few improvements - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By Daniel - November 23 - 2:50 pmGreat overall car. Outside it looks very good. Not too sporty. Inside is very solid and has higher quality looking materals around the dash and steering wheel. Toyota plays it safe and didnt try too hard on its design inside and out. I own the blue one. All of the paint jobs are very nice. It drives and handles great unless you are in hilly country. Then it needs some extra pep. The seats have a nice adjustable recline that is very comfortable but could be a little softer. In fact, the seats are very hard and dont break in.

Nice little car! - 2007 Toyota Corolla
By adoer2001 - November 19 - 9:30 pmI have had the car for a month, Within 24 hours of my purchase, the computer had to be replaced. Since then, I havent had any problems. Its comfortable and has a little pep! The drivers head rest when up creates a large blind spot. The trunk with the back seat down is huge. I got the 6 cd changer with 6 speakers and that thing is loud and clear, I love it!

Second Corolla - 2015 Toyota Corolla
By Happy Owner - November 19 - 8:08 pmI bought my first Corolla in 2009 and was disappointed in the performance and stability when the weather was wet and windy. I traded it a year later for a different brand. Fast forward 5 years and I picked up a 2015 Corolla in May. The only thing I dislike about the car is the CVT transmission. Ive had other cars with CVTs before; I understand how they work and why theyre engineered that way. Its to maximize efficiency. Ive learned its more effective to strategically plan getting on a freeway instead of being able to jump on the gas and having the car take off. The fit and finish of my car is great. I got the Brown Sugar metallic with Ivory interior. The paint doesnt pop as much as Id like it to, but thats probably because the dealership didnt have time to properly detail it before delivery. I arrived in the late afternoon and left (in my new car) after the dealership closed. Handling is typical economy car...light steering, not very precise but adequate. Its comfortable. I traded in a Lexus IS250 for my Corolla, and the Corolla is more comfortable. I have yet to see how it handles in wet weather, but its larger and heavier than my 2009 so I expect it to be better. Overall, a solid car. I anticipate hanging on to it for many years.

We LOVE it! - 2009 Toyota Corolla
By Alli & Jon - November 19 - 7:56 pmWe just traded in a 1998 Grand Am for this baby, thought we were going to buy a Civic, but once we saw the new Corolla and how sporty and roomier it is, we were sold. The dealership was ready to negotiate and met us at our price including more options. The black interior is warmer than my previous tan, but opening the sun roof clears out all hot air in about a minute. The A/C cools down real quick. 3 days after we purchased we took a road trip to Marquette, Michigan from Chicago. We had no problems at all. We love the sporty look, aggressive body style, easy to clean black interior, smooth ride, and I can almost see the front of the car! (Im short!) We love this car and Toyota now!

Great but... - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By EAL - November 19 - 4:40 pmI have owned this car for almost a month. The gas mileage is great, the ride and feel would be great except for a not too subtle high pitch humming noise coming from the transmission. It seems to appear only when the engine engages, as soon as you release the gas pedal the noise is gone. I will be taking it to the dealership to see what they can do. Will update at that point.

Not the new civic. - 2016 Toyota Corolla
By Mr econ - November 18 - 10:15 amGot an incredible deal. Absent the deal, Id have gone with the civic. Got the S PLUS for about 3000$ less than the civic lx. The corolla is exactly what is expected. Nothing more, nothing less. Acceleration is horrible. Noticeable difference from my old 14 civic. Night and day from the new civic. Handling is actually very tight and smooth. The cabin is quiet. Having that extra gear (6) is nice. Makes highway travel less noisy, and obviously more efficient. Will not get up many hills in 6th, but then again neither does my automatic v6 van without downshifting. First few days of driving yielded about 35-36 mpg in mixed Hwy/city. (35lbs in tires) Definitely not pushing it yet. I find the seats comfortable, unlike some of the other reviews. I am 65". ???? Ive always driven the base model civic, so all the bells and whistles are fun to have... I guess. Im sure Ill learn to appreciate them. Only problem I have with the car is the lack of power. It is slow! Pretty sure I can beat the car on foot the first 10-20 feet!

2010 Corolla S - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By Ed - November 14 - 11:33 amI am pretty happy. I drove so much that it paid to trade in my other car for one with high MPG. The exterior is an improvement from the previous generation. It also has the XRS odometer. I also got a lifetime powertrain warranty. Its a 100 dollar deductible, but I figure in 5 or 6 years Ill have 200K miles and get a new engine and transmission under warranty.

2nd corolla - even better than the first - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By MonkeysCanBiteU - November 14 - 10:00 amThis is my second corolla, and I love it. Its better than my 99 in every way. While performance is mediocre, it is an incredibly fun car to drive when mated with the 5-speed transmission. Handles superbly for stock suspension with semi-independent rear. A little more road noise than I would like, but for $14k, I cant complain.
