Model Overview:

Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.

Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

  • Most reliable car ever owned - 1995 Toyota Corolla

This car is very reliable. bought the car in 04 with 80k miles on it from an older woman who kept great care of it. Now in 2012, it has 175k miles and the only thing replaced on it was a starter and a clutch. Got the car when i was 16 and is a great starter car for a teen because it is great on gas and will last for a really long time. The only thing bad about it is the rear leg room is awful. Not the best car on space, but would definitely recommend a corolla to anyone interested. Really nice car!

  • A Lot of Car for the Money - 2004 Toyota Corolla

40 mpg, quiet, smooth, spacious, comfortable with impeccable highway manners that make it feel like a much larger car. Fit and finish are first rate and the amount of standard equipment included for $15K is phenomenal. Great back seat. Its not a sports car, but handling is more than adequate, with a smooth shifter and light, but not over responsive steering. As long as you dont drive near the limits, the Corolla goes where you point it and does so with aplomb. Given Toyotas reputation, I honestly dont know how you could get a better bargain than a 2004 Corolla.

  • 03 Corolla LE for me - 2003 Toyota Corolla

From reviewing the corolla and civic, the corolla wins. Test drove both; both a good cars. The corolla, however, has a better warranty and, in my opinion, and better reputation. similar crash tests, etc... This is a communter vehicle that takes me about 100 miles per day. Its a peppy little car with great gas mileage. Nice creature comforts. I would buy it again; no regrets on the decision.

  • Perfect for Econ-Minded - 2011 Toyota Corolla
    By -

I bought this car used with 15,000mi. Since then, I have driven to about 45,000 in two years. In my time I have realized how great it is from an economical standpoint: I get about 30/31mpg city, 36-39mpg hwy, maintenance costs are low (so far only oil changes and one cabin air filter replacement), insurance prices are low, and driver comfort/peace-of-mind is high from great visibility, good safety scores, and ease to drive/manage infotainment. That said, the interior isnt quite as "fancy" (futuristic or sharp designs) as competitors, but is great for the price. I would definitely recommend to a budget-orientated driver.

  • Great Buy - 2007 Toyota Corolla

Bought this car one month ago. I love it. 40 mpg overall avg with 25%city/75% hwy after 2000 miles. Handles well and acceleration with the 5 speed is great. The drivers seat takes some getting used to, not the most comfortable. I am 5ll and 195lbs and the seat and front leg room are only adequate for my size. I would not recommend this car to anyone above 62 or 220lbs. The build quality is typically Toyota solid. My backup car is a 93 Corolla that has 222,000miles on it and still runs great, so I am hoping the reliability will be the same with the 07. Overall, its a well built car with excellent resale value, is great on gas, and has a history of bulletproof reliability.

  • Everyone needs one - 2009 Toyota Corolla

Owned 2 months, getting constant 33-36 mpg in mixed driving, just took 1500 mile road trip and am amazed at the 41.5 overall return at 75-80 mph, glad I waited for 09, 08 seemed too uncomfortable without telescopic wheel, nice ride plenty of pep, suits every need I have.

  • Great, Reliable Car - 1997 Toyota Corolla
    By -

My dad bought this car new in 1997 and babied it ever since. I just bought it from him with only 87000 miles on it. The only thing he did was change oil every 3000 miles, replace timing belt and front brakes. I havent even had this car long enough to determine my miles per gallon but Im sure it will be outstanding. Great car for the money and very reliable. A+++

  • LOVE My Corolla - 2006 Toyota Corolla

We bought our Corolla 3 years ago and it works just as well as the day we bought it, despite having 64 000 km on it! The cost of the corolla is similar to American made vehicles but the quality is far better. I would highly recommend one.

  • Cant ask for more for the $$$ - 2003 Toyota Corolla

Ive owned my 2003 CE for 1.5 years now, and have been extremely pleased with my purchase. The interior comfort is superior to other cars in its class, gas mileage is excellent, and handling is fantastic.
