Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

This car saved my life! - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By zosozep24 - July 15 - 2:00 amI love my Corolla! As a college student, I needed something that is not only reliable, but that offers enough room to bring home all my laundry! ;) This car is GREAT on gas and its very sporty! None of my friends can believe its a Corolla! I also get compliments from everyone that rides with me on how smooth the ride is! It always puts my passangers to sleep! I highly recommend this car!

By Love my corolla - July 13 - 9:23 amWhat I love about my Corolla: Great gas mileage; cheap car payment; minimal repairs; she always starts; Toyota service has been mostly great What I dont love about my Corolla: Shes hopeless going up hills on the highway; merging on the highway can be scary b/c her pickup is slow; Ive had problems turning the key in the ignition (just turn harder); my check engine light came on after a couple years (carbon filter replaced under warrantee); not enough leg room in the backseat (I am 511)

Overall a nice car - 2010 Toyota Corolla
By jon - July 10 - 12:20 pmI was all set to buy a Corolla and then read the reviews of the "steering problem" and almost changed my mind. I test drove three more Corollas at different dealers paying close attention to the vagueness that others mentioned and just didnt understand their point as I think of the steering as "effortless" and "smooth". I guess Im just a guy who wants a reliable, fuel efficient car and is not interested in performance issues like "feeling connected" to the road. All in all Im pleased with the car. The drivers comfort is a great improvement over my wifes 08 Corolla with the addition of the telescoping feature. The suspension is also much smoother.

Garys 2004 LE - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Ciborphd - July 10 - 10:00 amFun to drive, great mpg, decent performance. Buying on reputation of excellent quality but so far disappointed at 1,400 miles. A/C blower switch and CD door broken already. Love the ride and EZ control panels. Would recommend despite the little things. Difficult to see back when parking. Not as low to exit as the Honda Civic so better ergonomics for those not wanting to rock and spring out of the seat. Love the auto-on light feature, but definitely needs more ways to adjust the driver seat.

pound for pound the best car for money - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By Craik - July 10 - 10:00 amI have a 1999 corolla and just bought the 2004. You cant beat this car for the money when it comes to build quality, reliability and gas milage.Looked at a Honda..boring..and a Mazda 3 but Mazda wouldnt come down on their price much and it was a 4 to 6 week wait.

My first Toyota - 2008 Toyota Corolla
By A West - July 6 - 7:28 amAfter being in a wreck with my truck I decided to buy an car for fuel mileage. I looked at several vehicles before settling on the Corolla. Here are the reasons i choose it. First off I bought the Corolla S because of the factory body styling and you can not see the exhaust. Second the reviews on this site gave me a good feeling about the reliability of the vehicle. Third the safety of the vehicle, My wife tends to drive it every now and then with our daughter. The Toyota Corolla was the right choice. I have had it for two months now and love it.

Eh. - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By Kathleen - July 5 - 12:06 amI bought the Corolla in April of 2003 to replace my 1997 Geo Prizm. Mechanically, you cant complain about the Corolla. It is a sold contruction and quality materials. As a Toyota, you know it will run forever. And the gas mileage is unbeatable. On the flip side, though, this car is way too tall for its wheelbase. The first time I drove it on a windy day I was unable to stay in my lane. I did not feel safe in the car, which ultimately led me to get rid of it. The engine is kind of pokey, too. I had to floor it getting on the highway. Toyota would be wise to give a bigger engine option and stabilize the car.

Gas Relief! - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By opie - July 4 - 10:00 amOutstanding fuel economy! Its not unusual to get 40+ mpg even while running A/C. Even though the car is small, it has very good manners on the highway, and is remarkably comfortable, even after a long drive. Its always nice and quiet without feeling too many bumps. I do alot of highway driving and I am still surprised by its comfort on the road! One more thing that is quite incredible...it starts every time you turn the key!!! Fantastic reliability!

My Blessings - 1998 Toyota Corolla
By Blessings - July 2 - 2:00 amI have had my car for almost five (5) years. I have been in three (3) car accidents with it. It was nothing but the power of GOD when I was in the three (3) different car accidents, my child was not in the car with me at no times. On January 2, 2003, I was coming from work and slid on Black Ice on the Garden State Parkway. Once again I was fortunate and Blessed my car finally came to a complete stop right before I hit the wall. A driver speeding in such hazardous condition going nowhere probably slid on the same Black Ice and ran right in the back of my car and smashed it. Sincerely, On My Bending Knees
