Overview & Reviews
Well into its fourth decade of production, the compact Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car in automotive history, and for good reason. Small, inexpensive, fuel-efficient and as reliable as the day is long, the Corolla is the quintessential economy car. As long as you change the oil on time and don't hit a tree, any Corolla should provide dependable transportation well past the 100,000-mile mark. That's why so many shoppers keep buying Corollas year after year.
Since its 1968 introduction in the U.S., the Toyota Corolla has come in a variety of body styles, including a sedan, coupe, hatchback and wagon. More recently, however, it has only been available as a sedan. Today's Corolla has almost as much rear passenger space as a midsize sedan and its fuel economy is impressive. Although rivals boast sportier designs and more entertaining driving dynamics, a Corolla is nonetheless an excellent choice for smart consumers on a budget.

The worst driving position - 2016 Toyota Corolla
By Gnep - July 25 - 12:32 pmGood fuel economy on highway. Round trip from San Jose to San Diego at ~70 mph, gets ~37 mpg. At ~60 mph, mpg gets even better. Just average fuel economy in city. ~23.5 mpg. Much reduced body roll than previous model, now takes corners confidently. Doesnt float on highway, as previous model did. Acceleration from stop is not fast but acceptable. Adequate acceleration on highway. Con: First thing I noticed was distorted reflection in rear mirror. Made me dizzy. Luckily dealer could replace a rear mirror, its reflection was still distorted but less noticeable. Where is Toyota Quality Control? I have driven Camry, Altima, Mazda 3, Forte, Fusion, Focus, Sonata, Sentra, Elantra, & Accent. The 2016 Corolla LE has the worst front seat, virtually no lower back support. Third day into driving this car gave me back ache. I had to stuff a small pillow behind my back. Previous model does not have this problem. Cost cutting, thinner seat? The steering wheel is off-center, more towards the right. My left hand needs to reach further. After long hour of driving, your body posture becomes asymmetric. Just plain poor ergonomics. The steering wheels hard plastic cuts into the joints of my fingers. The center consoles hard plastic cut into the side of my right knee. I have since taped a soft pad there as cushion. After the San Jose - San Diego round trip, its roof started rattling. It was just one month of driving. Where is Toyotas reliability?

Wheel Bearings - 2003 Toyota Corolla
By michele - July 25 - 10:00 amMy brother talked me into buying a Toyota and I do love it. However, I had to replace the drivers side wheel bearing in July of last year, no problem - I expect to have to pay for this type of maintenance. I had about 110,000 miles on it. A year later and 25,000 miles later - the same wheel bearing goes. I explain to the dealer that it doesnt make sense that I have to replace it yet again. The other one has never been replaced. They simply said its normal wear and tear because of the amount of miles I have put on it. We even called Toyota directly and we are waiting for some answers. Hopefully they will make it right. I was sold on Toyota, but may not be now. Will depend on how they respond.

2005 Corolla - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Barry Q - July 24 - 8:50 amI traded in a 2004 Camry SE V6 for this car. The Camry needed Premium and never got better than 24 MPG even on long highway trips. First, I can say I like getting 37-38 MPG. But when I have to fill up, it take a few extra minutes. If I just fill till it clicks, and hit a few more times, it is still not full. I slowly put usually another 2 gallons or so in it. The stereo even with 6 speakers is pretty weak. I like changing gears. I have had this car 6 months and have about 23,000 miles on it. I just can NOT find a good driving position. I avg about 1000 miles a week. My back kills me some days. It has very little Lumbar support. It is sporty to look at and 2 real adults can fit in the back.

Couldnt Have Done Better - 2000 Toyota Corolla
By Kate McIntosh - July 22 - 8:46 amThis car is fabulous. If you ever want to know what kind of car to buy, all you have to do is ask a car salesman. Well, I sell cars and this is my car. Its comfortable, the gas mileage is incredible and I know that I wont have any major problem because its a Toyota.

Fun and reliable - 2015 Toyota Corolla
By Miss - July 19 - 6:21 pmI recently traded in my Hyundai Tucson for a 2015 Corolla LE. The ride and features are far better. The Hyundai looks nice but in comparison to Toyotas they look and feel so cheap especially from the inside. The Corolla has lots of leg room in the front and back. The Corolla accelerates smoothly and maintains speed. On the highway, I have been getting over 40 mpg and when on cruise control its even higher. I love this car. The controls on the steering wheel are easy to use for changing radio stations and I really like the car screen that allows you to see exactly your mpg at the time. It handles curves really nice even at higher speeds. The ride is smoother and quiter than the Tucson . I know its not a luxury car but it does feel like it. The quality is outstanding. I was looking for a safe and reliable car to get to and from school and something safe for my 6 year old and I. I really love it and I cant say that enough!

MY 2003 TOYOTA COROLLA - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By COLLINS PAULK JR - July 15 - 2:00 amTHIS IS MY FIFTH TOYOTA. IVE PREVIOUSLY OWNED 2 COROLLAS AND 2 CAMRYS. I LOVE THE STYLE OF THIS COROLLA. TO ME IT FEELS LIKE A BABY CAMRY. IT IS JUST WHAT I NEED TO GET TO WORK AND GET AROUND TOWN. I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST GOT THIS CORILLA. IT WAS THE SECOND WEEK OF APRIL, 2002. BRAND NEW, NOT TOO MANY LIKE IT IN THE ROAD. HAD ONLY BEEN OUT 2 OR 3 WEEKS. REALLY TURNED A LOT OF HEADS. THE BEST YET.

Happy with my 2004 Corolla LE - 2004 Toyota Corolla
By CDC - July 15 - 2:00 amVery nice appearance, I love the MoonShadow Gray Metallic Exterior with a lighter Gray Interior. The ride is very smooth and quiet. Acceleration is very good and makes for easy passing and entry into traffic situations. Braking is easy and smooth. Controls are all in easy reach and easy to operate. Seat belts are of adequate length even for the larger occupants.
