  • Surprisingly... Terrible Car - 1993 Toyota Camry

I purchased my 1993 Toyota Camry back in April of 2005. I bought it with 125,000 miles. As soon as I bought it everything started to go wrong. I had to replace two head gaskets. Two Oxygen sensors. A wheel bearing. Two CV shafts. Of course all of this didnt go right away. But I only put 15,000 miles on it since I bought it, and thats a lot to go wrong. Plus for a V- 6 it didnt seem that peppy. Also I got horrible gas mileage. The one good thing is that it ran smooth. Ive had enough of it. Im going to trade it in. I have owned a lot of cars in the past, but nothing was ever this bad.

I bought this 93 last year with 44k on it. Most problems to date occured because it wasnt driven enough (several engine seals, cv boots/seals). The build quality, however, is excellent. The interior still looks new, the paint is original and still decent. Good acceleration, braking, cushy ride.

  • A Darn Good Car - 1993 Toyota Camry

After owning several American-made cars, this was definitely the BEST all around car Ive had. There have been issues over the years with the electrical and little things beginning to break off (broken door handle, etc), but I think this is attributable to its age. It still runs with the best of them, a nice smooth ride and solid construction. I am still driving it, current mileage 211K. If Id have maintained it better (regular oil changes, tires, etc) like a good car owner, no telling how long this car may last.

  • Best Car Value "Ever" Nominee - 1993 Toyota Camry

I hesitated buying this car in 1997 because I thought it was pricey for a 4 year old car with 84,000 miles on it. Eight tears later in 2005 with 215,000 miles on it, I have no regrets. It is by far the best performing and most reliable car Ive had. I have no reason to buy anything else. Parts may be more expensive than average but because of the low failure rate, I have saved big time and enjoyed a fine car.

Extremely reliable in all kinds of weather. My total expenditures for repairs in the 14 years I have owned it are less than $600. Hate to sell it but the wife wants a new car! New car payment will be around $600.

  • Great!! - 1993 Toyota Camry

Ive only had it for a little more than six months and its been a great car. Love the performance even though it has 171,000 miles it has its details. Probably the owners that had had it before didnt take care of it so Im just doing some fixings on the suspension system and the interior, but the engine hasnt given me any problems at all. Great car.

I have a 1993 toyoda camry 4 door LE sedan and it is the best car ever. What other car is going to be running like brand new with 194,000 miles. This car is the best car ever. The only complaint I have is my paint job because it is fading but hey it is 13 years old.

  • Not what its cracked up to be - 1993 Toyota Camry

I have spent a lot of money on this car in repairs. It never seems to end every time I fix something another thing breaks. Transmission went bad at 103.000 miles over $1,800 to fix. 2 cv axles went bad at 67.000 miles. Water pump needed replacement at 71.000 miles along with the timing belt, tensioner, radiator went at 91,504 miles, now car has developed a major oil leak at 113,000 miles and was told its leaking from the head gasket a cost of $900.00 from day one this car makes all kinds of noise when cold out something to do with bushings in the front and rear. It has a 4 cylinder motor which only gets 12 miles to a gallon. My next car will not be a Toyota. Im thinking of a Nissan altima
