This Year's Model Updates:

For 2011, the Toyota Avalon receives new front- and rear-end styling, a new dash and more standard features. Furthermore, trim levels have been reduced to the base Avalon (which is similar to the outgoing XLS trim) and the Avalon Limited.

Pros:
  • Seats five adults in comfort, attractive cabin design with high-quality materials, composed and quiet ride, powerful and efficient V6, available upscale amenities, strong crash test scores.
Cons:
  • A bit expensive for its class, refined nature leaves little room for flair or personality, rear seats do not fold.

  • The good, the bad and the ugly - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

A luxury car, that is selling for an increasingly luxury price. Great quite ride which is much better handling with better road feel than I expected. The comfort and features of the interior are great. Styling is just like every other car now, boxy high sides and cat eye windows. Vision is restricted in all the new cars and it is in the Avalon too. None of these manufacturers have an original idea. If you are paying the extra 10% for the limited, the car should at least say limited on it.

  • Company Car - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

I recently picked up a 2011 Avalon as my new company car. Before getting company cars I have owned both the Lexus ES and GS models. While the Avalon is not a Lexus, its total package could be classified between the ES and GS. Ride and handling soft, but everything is a trade off.

  • 2011 Avalon (Great car, Horrible dealership services) - 2011 Toyota Avalon

I love my new Avalon. The suspension is smooth without the floaty ride. Rear seat legroom (roomier in class), adjustable rear seat comfort is a nice touch. Great car to own if you have a personal driver. A/C and Nav controls are intuitive and easy to operate. Only tech missing is the adaptive cruise control.

  • Surprised at 70k miles - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

Weve had our Avalon for about a year and a half now and have been satisfied. Weve had Toyotas since 1989. At 65k, front brake rotors warped & pads needed replacing - at 68k, the rear rotors & pads got replaced. At 70k, inner tie rods got loose and got replaced. Were holding our breath and wondering whats going to be next. Of course, this is the first Toyota that weve kept beyond the 36k mark, so perhaps this brand isnt as reliable as weve always thought? Although wed hesitate to say this Avalon is a lemon, weve planned on its lasting 10 years...wish us luck.

  • 2nd one, and love it more! - 2011 Toyota Avalon

Well my 2008 Touring Model was nice, but bot, this 2011 Limited Edition is just great. I would have never expected it to be that much smoother, quieter, more comfortable then the 08, but man IT IS! Now I had been considering a used LS 460 L, and if they had come to my terms, I would be owning one. Not sure if this would have been a bad / good thing. The LS L was a 2008 with 22,000 miles (45,000 less then my Avalon), and a great car, but a bit more and I had a budget I was going to stay with. Now the local Toyota dealer had just purchased a lot of promotional / print matter from us, so it did sway me a bit. Bottom line, right now I Love the car. Is there things Id like changed - yes

  • poor back up camera - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

I purchased my 2011 with 32,000+ miles. the backup camera doesnt show evenly on the navigation screen. It isnt centered on the screen. The dealer told me after I drove it off the lot that all 2011s have this. "It is on all the 2011s". Ive asked the dealer 5 weeks ago to drive another 2011 to see if that car has the same problem. So far, he said he hasnt had one to test. If anyone has this problem, please coment. Thank you.

  • Not as good as I thought I was getting - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

Used to LeSabre. Avy does not have as many features, has a motor whine, and windows stick; trunk whams when closing. Overall ride is smooth, gas is good. Info display very limited. 1st and last; back to Buick. More bang for the buck.

  • Good Car But - 2011 Toyota Avalon
    By -

There are two design deficiencies I have noted so far. Foremost, there is a severe glare of the dash on the windshield when driving into the sun or with the sun on your left shoulder and hitting the dash. The "hump" over the instrument panel reflects onto the windshield directly in the drivers view. I have not experienced anything of this magnitude in my 73 yrs. Secondly, and a minor flaw, when the sun shines on the digital clock the white numbers become red and you dont see the actual time. For example, at 3:43 pm I was seeing "1388" in red numbers. I blocked the sun and saw the correct time with white numbers. I would not have bought had I been aware of the reflection.
